Danny Kirsic has always thrived in the world of the creative.
Since his teenage years, Danny has been inspired by music, photography and the moving image. Being born into a military family has allowed him to travel world wide, photographing and exploring many countries and cultures. A part of his life that continues today with his work in the television and motion picture industry.
As a young man, photography was always a serious hobby. during this period, Danny not only learned the art of image capture, more importantly developed the ability to tell a compelling story. A skill that came to be very useful years later when he began writing songs for major motion pictures as well as network television.
Upon returning to the United States after graduating high school in Europe, Danny joined the U.S. Air Force and was immediately deployed to Southeast Asia. A major turning point for Danny and his camera came while in Vietnam in 1975. This is when he was given the opportunity to help document the "Evacuation of Saigon" as it was happening. While filming this traumatic event, he learned the value of a voyeuristic perspective. From this moment on he was hooked. Danny's collective life experience has made him the filmmaker he is today.
For the past 30 years, along with scoring music for television, motion pictures and working the road as a touring musician behind a list of major recording artists, Danny has gained the respect in the film industry as a Field Producer, Director of Photography and Cinematographer. Over the last 15 years he has worked primarily in the field, much of the time under extreme conditions and under pressure to manage time, content and personnel. He brings his military work ethic and sense of organization to the job, while at the same time remaining a team player.
Danny's life, filled with world travel has never slowed down. His adventures have taken him from the Arctic Circle to Cape Horn as well as many times around the world. While working for networks such as NBC Universal, NBC Sports Outdoors, The outdoor Channel, The Sportsman's Channel and Versus, he has been personally responsible for the delivery of over 300 episodes of unscripted television and documentaries. He would rather be on location in the field any day of the week and has earned four coveted Telly Awards related to cinematography and music score.
Danny resides in the North Georgia Mountains with his wife Suzan, also an accomplished still photographer. They have a daughter who is a successful writer and shares in the family's creative gene-pool, a Firefighter son-in-law and two grandchildren..
