The Palm Royale stars are hitting the red carpet!

Kristen Wiig, Ricky Martin, and Laura Dern stepped out for the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 15) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Leslie Bibb, Don Johnson and wife Kelley Phleger, Amber Chardae Robinson, and Carol Burnett, who skipped the red carpet.

Palm Royale is nominated for three awards tonight including Outstanding Comedy Series.

As Carol Burnett makes Emmy Awards history this weekend, Abe Sylvia is reflecting on his collaboration with the comedy legend.

The Palm Royale creator explained that he had the “biggest imposter syndrome” after Burnett came to be cast as wealthy comatose matriarch Norma Dellacorte in his Apple TV+ series, which was renewed for a second season back in June.

“I didn’t have anyone in mind. But we have a fantastic casting director, Kerry Barden, and he really encouraged us to shoot for the moon,” he recalled to Collider. “It was his idea to go after Carol Burnett for Norma. I said, ‘I don’t know. She’s in a coma. Does that feel too small?’ And he was like, ‘Let’s just ask. Palm Royale has been renewed for a second season just a month after the conclusion of its first season. The comedy series' ten episodes ran from March until May.

Starring Kristen Wiig, Laura Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy, and Kaia Gerber, with guest stars Bruce Dern and Carol Burnett, the series is set in 1969 Palm Beach high society. “Palm Royale” has been renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV+, Variety has learned.

The series originally debuted on the streamer back in March with the season finale aired in May. It stars Kristen Wiig and Laura Dern as well as Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy and Kaia Gerber, with guest stars Bruce Dern and the legendary Carol Burnett.

The series is set in 1969 and follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) “as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society,” per the official description. “As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, ‘Palm Royale’ asks the same question that still baffles us today: ‘How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?'”

Wiig was just recently recognized for her work in the series with a nomination from the first ever Gotham TV Awards.

The tech giant’s streaming service has renewed Palm Royale for a second season. The pickup for the Kristen Wiig-led comedy comes about a month after the 10-episode first season concluded.

Palm Royale comes from Apple Studios and creator Abe Sylvia (Dead to Me, Nurse Jackie). Kristen Wiig is heading back to sunny Palm Beach as Apple TV+ has renewed its hit freshman series Palm Royale for a second season.

Loosely based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel Mr. and Mrs. American Pie and produced by Apple Studios, Palm Royale is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) in 1969 as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. Armed with fabulous ensembles and accessories, as well as her quick wit, Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots. The dramedy asks the same question: How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?

Maxine Delacorte-Simmons isn’t done ruffling feathers in Palm Beach, now that Apple TV+ has renewed Palm Royale for Season 2.

The pickup comes one month after the Kristen Wiig comedy’s Season 1 finale, which was released on May 8.

Apple TV+ has revealed the first look for its upcoming star-studded series “Palm Royale.” Loosely based on the novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie” by Juliet McDaniel, the Palm Beach-set series will follow Maxine Simmons as she tries to break into Palm Beach high society in 1969, asking the enduring question: “How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?”
