Titus Kaphar is an internationally recognized artist whose work is included in the permanent collections of the Detroit Institute of the Arts, Detroit, MI, The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY, The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY, among others. Kaphar approaches film production as an extension of his studio practice, expanding existing bodies of painting and sculpture through film. In 2016, Kaphar completed "The Jerome Project," a short documentary produced as a continuation of one of his best known series of paintings based on his relationship with his estranged father, Jerome. This documentary short became the inspiration for a forthcoming feature film based on the artist's life. Kaphar's most recent film, "Shut up and Paint," won best short at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. Kaphar launched his own production company, Revolution Ready, in 2020.
