Chapter two: Sgt. Royal leaves the cave in pursuit of Mort with no hat. In the chase scene he is briefly seen with his hat on. After the explosion, he again has no hat.
Chapter 12: After 500+ years the rope, exposed to the weather, would have rotted away. But, It makes for a good story anyway.
