Goofs

When Timmy opens the box containing the train set his mother buys, he quickly re-wraps the box leaving a small amount of the tissue paper hanging on the outside of the box. In the next scene, the paper is not hanging outside the box.

When Connie brings the gift wrapped box with the train set from her bedroom to the living room, she places the box on a table next to a wall with the ribbon on the box parallel to that wall. In the next shot, the ribbon is perpendicular to the wall.

At the dinner table, after Mrs. Ellis makes a remark about Steve's tie, he pulls it out from inside his coat and holds it in his hand. When the camera cuts to a closeup of Steve, the tie is tucked back inside his coat.

The film appears to take place in New York City, but the store that Steve Mason (Robert Mitchum) works at is Crowley's, which was only in downtown Detroit.

Timmy with Steve Mason was in Timmy's room Timmy was throwing a ball to hit the moon. He yelled on the second throw he hit it when he actually missed it.

When Timmy runs his new Lionel toy train in front of the fireplace for guests, the whistle that sounds is for a steam locomotive, not a diesel horn sound. It is the same sound effect used correctly near the beginning of the film for a steam locomotive in the store window.

After Connie sets the boxed train set near the door so as to take it with her in the morning, as the camera closes in on Timmy's disappointed face, the camera rig shadow is seen moving over the box.

It is not necessary to buy an item and take it home to find out the price.

When Carl (Wendell Corey) and Connie (Janet Leigh) are dining out, Carl requests two martinis, one with two olives. When the martinis arrive, Carl's martini obviously has one olive, and it appears Connie's martini also has only one olive.

When Timmy is taking everyone's picture at dinner with his new camera, there is no flash bulb in the flash. None of the pictures would have come out.
