Features two actors who would play prominent roles in the Star Trek universe: David Brian who played John Gill in the original series "Patterns of Force" ('67), and William Campbell who played Trelane in "The Squire of Gothos" and also Koloth in both "The Trouble with Tribbles" ('67) and DS9 "Blood Oath" ('94).
David Brian and William Campbell also appear in The High and the Mighty.
John Agar had severe alcohol problems during the shooting of the film.
Paul Picerni - who was then a young actor beginning in the business - did not like Frank Lovejoy at first sight, because Lovejoy told Picerni that he was not a good actor...According to Lovejoy, Picerni was not convincing saying his lines.
Producer Jack Warner decided to delete some scenes of the film, just after the screen test, because US Army just began the war in North Korea, and he did not want any anti war message in the movie. Warner wanted to keep good relation with the Army.
