Gail Davis rode two different horses playing Target. They were rental horses from the from Ace Hudkins stables. One was a docile animal used for close-ups, while the other, the friskier of the two was used for chase scenes.
Annie rode Target, Lofty rode Forest, and Tagg rode Pixie.
Jimmy Hawkins who played TAGG OAKLEY also rode two horses from Hudson stable one was extremely fast the other very docile But most interesting...in the final years on Annie Oakley Jimmy Hawkins bought and rode his own horse PIXIE in over 30 Episodes This is the horse JIMMY/TAGG appeared as the main attration at Rodeo's, State and County Fairs all over the United states. He and Gail Davis(Annie) also did Fair dates. The show was so popular Jimmy traveled with his boss Gene Autry for over 10 weeks one summer.
