In the 1970s, Uganda would have most likely had old hand-me-down U.K. military equipment. Most of the military vehicles in the film are conspicuously American. The C-130s are all California National Guard aircraft, with different camouflage than Israel. The Ugandans and Israelis drive Ford M151A1 "Mutts" (not Jeeps) used by active military and National Guard. When the Ugandan reinforcements arrive, they drive 2.5- and 5-ton trucks that would only be found in the U.S. Military, with modern "singles" on the front and on the rear, instead of the military tread "dualies" on the rear axles. Most of the film was shot at Stockton Airport, and the California National Guard has a facility there.

When the pilot of the Air France plane is told to enter as a new course heading 181, almost directly south, the plane turns right. Flying from Athens to Paris, the plane go northwest, at a heading of about 315. The shortest way to reach heading 181 would be for the plane turn left.

A police officer at Paris Airport refers to French president Giscard as president d'Estaing. His full name was Valéry Giscard d'Estaing; Giscard was part of his last name.
