First of the Fantozzi movies directed by Neri Parenti alone. Previous movie Fantozzi contro tutti (1980) was already directed by Parenti, but together with Paolo Villaggio. Parenti directed all the following movies of the series, except from the last one Fantozzi 2000 - La clonazione (1999).

First of the Fantozzi movies not based on a book of Paolo Villaggio but on an original script.

Due to Giuseppe Anatrelli's premature death in 1981, the character of Luciano Calboni is played by Riccardo Garrone and appears in this movie for the last time.

Second time that Pina Fantozzi (Milena Vukotic) cheats on her husband. After an affair with young baker Cecco (Diego Abatantuono) in Fantozzi contro tutti (1980), here she has an adventure with young hitchhiker Franchino (Mario Pedone), who in turn had an affair with Fantozzi's secret object of desire, Miss Silvani (Anna Mazzamauro).

The company "Megaditta" is here set in two different locations: the exteriors belong to the headquarter of the Italian post service in Rome, the interiors to air traffic services company ENAV, also in Rome. Director Count Corrado Maria Lobbiam (Ugo Bologna) has his second appearance after Il secondo tragico Fantozzi (1976). Accountant Fonelli (Michele Mirabella) is the only case of simple clerk of the Megaditta becoming manager (Natural Megadirector). New sectors of the company's administrative division are here revealed: Kickbacks and Recommendations, Thefts and Blackmails, Claims. In the latter is stated to work Ugo Fantozzi (Paolo Villaggio) together with Luciano Calboni (Riccardo Garrone), Filini (Gigi Reder) and Miss Silvani (Anna Mazzamauro) and the accountants Mughini (Antonio Francioni) and Fonelli (Michele Mirabella), the latter before becoming Natural Megadirector.
