Pankaj Parashar had shot 26 episodes of Karamchand and needed a break so he told Gul Anand that he will do the film (Jalwa) only if it is based in Goa. He was fine even if I wanted to do it in Timbuktoo. Four of Them - Kamlesh Pandey, Rajesh Majumdar, Gul and I went to Goa.they went up and down writing the story in the Jeep.

Earlier Johnny Lever just had one scene in the film when his shoot was over he decided to stay back to watch the shoot as they would travel in buses Johnny Lever would do mimicry that's where Pankaj Parashar noticed his talent and added more scenes of him.Ashok Kumar mimicry by Johnny Lever was not part of the film Johnny Lever had done it himself.

Pankaj Parashar was to do Tarzan 2 with Hemant Birje and Kimi Katkar,He didn't like the concept of Tarzan 2. So he developed a story as to how a plane, carrying smugglers crashes in the jungle and they meet this guy who's born and brought up in the jungle. He and producer Gul Anand then let go of the Tarzan concept and then thought on the lines of mixing Beverly Hills Cop and Commando.
