Although he receives a screen credit, the music by Chuck Cirino was replaced by an uncredited new score by the producers. Fred Olen Ray then used the Cirino score intended for this movie in The Alien Within (1990)
Fred Olen Ray said they accidentally set five people on fire in a single day, including Dan Golden, who really burst into flames.
Fred Olen Ray cobbled together Teagan Clive's Alienator costume from materials he got for free or borrowed. He had it fashioned to fit Clive's bulky bodybuilder frame. But Ray never met her in person. He cast her after seeing photos and talking to her on the phone. When she showed up, it was obvious she hadn't worked out in awhile because she was much thinner with less muscular tone. So Ray had to make costume alterations to fit her slimmer frame.
The film is a "semi-remake" of The Astounding She-Monster (1957).
