- GoofsWhen Lloyd tackles Mary on the hotel stairs, she is wearing black pantyhose. By the time they get to the hotel room, she has mysteriously changed into gray tights.
- Quotes
Lloyd Christmas: We got no food, we got no jobs... our PETS' HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!
- Crazy creditsThe opening credits are full of spelling errors. For instance, "Prodoosed", "Durected" and "wrote" instead of "written".
- Alternate versionsAll UK releases remove the scene where Lloyd returns to the newspaper stand and shouts for the "little old lady" after she has taken off with his groceries and wallet. The scene was originally broadcast on ITV when the film premiered in the UK in 1996, but it has since been excised from all VHS and DVD releases of the film. This scene is only present on the Dutch VHS released by RCV Entertainment and the Australian DVD released by Roadshow Entertainment.

They might be dumb, but they sure are funny. I think what really makes the movie come to life, besides the superb acting performance of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, is that the jokes feel genuine and innocent instead of overdone and forced. In one way or another it is easy to relate to some of what the poor guys go through. As the movie goes on it gets better and better. Overall great performance and funny jokes.
