Both assigned to the same target, a spy squares off with an international assassin.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith pose as a newly married couple moving into a new house in the middle of a gated suburban area. The assignment is to investigate their across the street neighbor who is a software engineer for a security company that sells their services to a lot of biotech and aerospace companies that do business with the government. Security plans for various agencies represented by this security company have been stolen and they suspect its an inside job. While Mr. and Mrs. Smith are busy playing house and trying to keep their cover, they discover that their new house has been bugged, and that they are being spied on. When the house even gets broken into in the middle of the night they fight them off, but the bad guys end up getting picked up by a helicopter. They eventually discover that the neighbor has been blackmailed by a rogue member of the Dept. of Justice interested in making a name for himself and Mr. and Mrs. Smith try to expose him.
