Is Paul Rosenberg trying to tell us something about Eminem's new music? The music manager posted a picture of Yelawolf's new album Trial by Fire on Instagram, but followers couldn't help but notice what appeared to be a drug ad for a brand called Revival. The advertisement seemed straight forward enough, but Reddit users were quick to pick up on a few clues that suggested Revival might be the name of Marshall Mathers's new album. As one thread posted by BotizYT notes, the advertisement features a backwards E at the bottom, which Eminem also uses. The Reddit user also points out that the ad's call-to-action reads "seize the moment," which might be a reference to his song "Sing...

Journey fans have stopped believing in a reunion performance.
The American rock band was joined by former lead singer Steve Perry at Friday evening’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Perry, 68, was there with former bandmates Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Steve Smith and Ross Valory, along with current lead singer Arnel Pineda, who was not included in the band’s honor.
Train’s Pat Monahan inducted them with kind words. “Tonight I’m here to live out a life-long dream, to induct the heart of San Francisco music into the rock hall,...

Oz Perkins’ The Blackcoat’s Daughter – formerly known as February to festival fanatics – actually predates his 2016 Netflix release I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House. While the latter sophomore effort left me feeling numb and unfulfilled, his former debut is a much more accessible breed of slow-burn damnation. Still not my cup of satanic tea, but Catholic prep schools and psychological torture go hand-in-hand. Many have heralded Perkins’ second first effort “this year’s The Babadook” – which I don’t understand because no themes, characters or techniques are shared – but not here. Hardcore genre fans are in for invasive visual attack, but also a lax attempt to weave symbolism with teenage terror. Perkins’ style will not be for everyone – remember that going in.
We meet three girls throughout The Blackcoat’s Daughter. Kat (Kiernan Shipka) is a quirky, quiet goody-good whose parents never pick her up for break.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones was full of huge moments: epic battles, character deaths, betrayals, alliances, even a little time travel. There were too many great moments to list them all, so I picked ten, one from each episode. Spoilers ahead!
Brienne To The Rescue
In the season opener “The Red Woman,” we were shown that Jon Snow was very much dead, and they were going to leave him that way for a bit. We saw a lot of death and a change of leadership in Dorne. Melisandre was revealed...in a different way than we had seen her revealed before.
But the moment that makes the list is Brienne fulfilling her desire to protect and serve another Stark. She showed up just in time to save Sansa and Theon from the fate of being brought back to the maniac Ramsay Bolton. With the help of Podrick,...

The first arc of this title, Trial By Fire, turned out to be great fun. Sure, it had a few ups and downs along the way but ultimately was a solid addition to the Assassin’s Creed universe, and not only established a status quo but established one and then promptly ripped it up. Our heroine was/is Charlotte de la Cruz, recruited by the ‘good’ Assassins Brotherhood to fight the ‘bad’ Templars. Along the way though, she soon discovered ‘good’ and ‘bad’ are far too simplistic terms for the Assassins/ Templar conflict, as both sides have very dirty hands, something she discovers at great cost at the end of the last issue. So like the second act in a solid action film, where can she go from here?

Nephew of Bob Marley, Charles Mattocks - a celebrity chef and actor - has announced the release of his new documentary film, "Trial by Fire," which explores the effects of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (Crps/Rsd), a nerve disorder that causes excruciating pain, skin problems, swelling and, in some cases, death. "Trial by Fire," directed by Mattocks, stems from his efforts to help his mother, Constance Marley - a sister of Bob Marley - as she suffers with Crps. This movie exposes the suffering of millions and the need for further education, research and treatment options for those that live with what has been described as one...

I am never quite sure if being a fan of a certain property is a positive or negative when reviewing it. Can you be too generous with praise? or do you subject it to tougher than normal scrutiny? This is partly my dilemma reviewing Assassins Creed: Trial By Fire. I have played all the games, and am definitely a fan, so this book was intriguing to me. It has a very promising creative team on board, notably the excellent artist Neil Edwards but also the co-writers of Idw series Kill Shakespeare, Del Col and McCreery, which has a very unique voice.
The main story is very straight forward to pick up, perhaps too easy, as though the writers felt they had to take it easy on the reader and spoon feed us the plot and main characters.

Jon Batiste gets off the elevator and doesn't say a word to the percussionists already tapping out rhythms for a rooftop soundcheck at New York's NoMad Hotel — he just plops down at the white Steinway and joins in. There's not much of an audience beyond a handful of photographers, a soundman and some staff steaming a white tablecloth for a makeshift bar. Still, he's performing: winking and smiling at everyone, digging into the keys, laughing, shouting. Until he gets up from his stool maybe a half-hour later, he doesn't ever...

The third season release of Major Crimes is hitting May 26th, and I’ve got your opportunity to win one of three copies of the DVD!
The show, a spin-off of The Closer, has been doing well since it premiered, and the third season was the #3 scripted drama on basic cable.
Moreover, despite not kicking off all that well, it’s a show that has grown into itself, and found a more solid base of existence. The quality has grown in many respects, and the cases were far more interesting in the third season.
Mary McDonnell seems more comfortable, due in large part to the writing giving her a broader base of character to work with.
If you aren’t caught up, now is the perfect chance to get ready for the fourth season.
Take a look at more info on the season, and enter to win your copy!

Nick, Juliette and Adalind's supernatural soap opera becomes even more complicated in Grimm's mid-season premiere...
This review contains spoilers.
4.14 Bad Luck
Grimm returned from yet another mid-season sabbatical to deal with the fallout of Nick’s discovery that his girlfriend is a right witch.
If you remember, we were left hanging at the end of the last episode, Trial By Fire, when Juliette confessed she was a Hexenbiest to Nick, after wiping the floor – literally – with arch-nemesis Adalind.
Our hero reacts by ticking all the right emotional tick boxes: shock, betrayal, guilt, confusion... Despite reassuring Juliette that he would never hurt her, he takes off, presumably to try to figure out the deeply weird and conflicting relationship that exists between himself, Juliette and Adalind (a relationship that we learn by the end of the episode is about to get a lot more, ahem, fraught.)
As his job is being a hero,...

Conflict is at the heart of every drama and Grimm is a show that works best when its characters struggle moves beyond the “I’m going to punch a monster this week” and digs into more historical and personal territory. It also helps to have a good fight, because Grimm is still about punching some monsters. This week’s episode gives us all that and more and has some fun with a character over which I was beginning to despair. Let’s recap shall we? The cold open begins with a hot lava monster and two naughty kids just trying to have some … Continue reading →

Grimm finally delivers the Juliette V Adalind biestfight, and the confession, that we've all been waiting for...
This review contains spoilers.
4.13 Trial By Fire
“Bring it on, bitch!”
Picture this: You’ve been lied to, drugged, cursed, put in a coma, lost your memory and been cheated on.
Now the minx responsible for four seasons of misery turns up on your doorstep, confident she can once again manipulate you for her own purposes. But what she doesn’t realise is that you’re now more than a match for her scary-face powers – and have recently discovered you don’t give a hoot about killing Wesen that pose a threat.
And so begins the biestfight we’re all been waiting for – where Juliette substitutes a fortune in therapy sessions for an explosive fight with Adalind that shows us what the newly-formed Hexenbiest has really got. The two really go at it,...

The final guild/industry group to declare nominees did so this afternoon as the Motion Picture Sound Editors (Mpse) spoke up with a roll call of players for the 62nd Golden Reel Awards. On the film side of things, "Birdman" and "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" had the best showing with three nominations each. I've been wondering if the latter could slide into Oscar play this year, but it's hard to gauge here, as "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" had a nice Mpse showing, too. In the effects/foley category, "Fury" is featured as well, also a strong possibility to pop up. All other expected players ("American Sniper," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Unbroken," etc.) are featured. We'll see how the sound branch shakes it all out tomorrow but I'm a little more confused by where they'll end up going than usual, I must say. Check out...

Stewart Alexander is a Canadian actor and writer based in London, England. He was born and raised in Lachine, Quebec, and moved to the UK shortly after graduating from McGill University. Having made a number of short films on Super-8 in college, he embarked on a self-appointed apprenticeship assisting in the lighting, sound and editorial departments for a number of production companies in the UK. He also wrote and directed a short film called, “The Leather Jacket,” which was shot on 16mm, and edited, in a pre-digital age, on a Steenbeck. After meeting Kerry Skinner while studying to be an actor, he wrote the stage-play “Body Checks,” which they co-produced to considerable critical acclaim, and then adapted into a screenplay.
Now Alexander and Skinner have co-directed their first feature, the comedy-drama Common People. The film weaves together six stories and over thirty characters to present a dramatic, humorous and sometimes magical tale of romance,...

In 1986, Journey, with frontman Steve Perry, released the studio album "Raised on Radio" and traveled the globe for an accompanying world tour. Journey would not perform together again for almost ten years -- and that's when things got really complicated. After the 1996 album, "Trial By Fire," Perry, citing a hip injury, bowed out of the tour. This left Journey with a new platinum album, but no lead singer.
The new documentary, "Don't Stop Belivin': Everyman's Journey," premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, takes us through the contentious backstory of modern day Journey. The film reveals a band that lost one of the most notable lead singers in history, Steve Perry, then faced scrutiny by replacing Perry with Steve Augeri, to how the band found its current frontman, Arnel Pineda -- a singer from the Philippines who guitarist Neal Schon found on YouTube.

Upcoming movie The Whole Banana may feature elements of ancient Greek mythology but, as the whimsical title suggests, it's far removed from any of the other recent productions that have clashed their immortal titans on the big screen.
Instead of a gritty action film with furious gods and fire-spewing fiends locked in deadly battle, you will find a heartwarming tale of charm and humour that promises to show us what it means to be human.
Filming is under way in Los Angeles on the romantic comedy, whose all-star cast of movie and TV favourites includes Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) and Kristy Swanson (Buffy), with large cameo roles from Matthew Perry (Friends) and Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman). We previously reported that Resident Evil actress Sienna Guillory and the Farley brothers had also signed on to the production.

It's hard to say why, but there seems to be a hesitation on the part of popular society to accept Josh Radnor as a filmmaker. While his co-stars on "How I Met Your Mother" -- Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Harris, in particular -- have faced little resistance as they pursued other projects, Radnor, as a recent Gawker post illustrates, is still referred to as "Guy from 'How I Met Your Mother.'" In 2010, Radnor's directorial debut, "happythankyoumoreplease," premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The movie clicked at the festival, earning the Audience Award, but bombed with critics and fell flat at the box office. Now, Radnor is back at Sundance with "Liberal Arts," a film that received a standing ovation at its premiere. In "Liberal Arts," Radnor plays Jesse, a somewhat depressed admissions counselor at a New York City college who is invited by a former professor (Richard Jenkins...

While opponents of capital punishment point to the growing number of exonerated prisoners as evidence of its fallibility, supporters can claim the same as proof the system works: Mistakes happen, but sooner or later, they’re rooted out. But in the case of Cameron Todd Willingham, there’s no turning back the clock. In the 2009 New Yorker article “Trial By Fire,” David Grann meticulously laid out a compelling case that the crime for which Willingham was executed in Texas in 2004—the death by fire of his three young daughters—never even occurred. Evidence that the fire was intentionally ...

From MTV News: To say "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" has had its share of problems is to say "Avatar" was fairly successful or "The Twilight Saga" is moderately popular. It seems that anything that could possibly have gone wrong with the Broadway production has. There have been delays, injuries, bad reviews, script issues and actors leaving, and all before the show has officially opened. Fortunately, the preview performances are selling out across the board, but the musical is struggling and director Julie Taymor knows it.
The Tony-winning director hasn't made a public statement about the problems in production since aerialist and stunt double Christopher Tierney was severely injured back in December. But during the TED2011 conference in Long Beach, California, on Wednesday, Taymor discussed the current state of the musical with an audience of more than 1,000 people.
"I am in the crucible right now. It is my trial by fire.

Read part one of our visit right here . Trial By Fire In a little area outside the Riverview building, a young Canadian named Dustin dips his whole forearm into a bucket of translucent goo, then takes a plastic squeezable ketchup bottle filled with gasoline and sprays the gooey arm down, then lights it on fire. This is a friendly demonstration of a liquid developed by Dustin called "Cool Gel" that can be used for doing controlled burns on bare-skin without harming the stunt person. "We started playing with it and developing it on .Final Destination 3'," said Dustin. "If you watch the DVD extras there's a section called .Boobs & Burns'. This is a different fuel, this isn't alcohol." As Dustin gives us this spiel, he is still on...

Have you been wondering what happened after Terminator Salvation? Are you waiting for the next movie? Well stop what your doing and go pick up Terminator Salvation: Trial By Fire. Coming soon from our friends at Titan Books is Timothy Zahn's Terminator Salvation: Trial By Fire, a new story in the Terminator universe that carries on shortly after the latest film ends. We've got three copies to give away and one can be yours just by emailing me here and naming another famous big screen scifi series that Zahn has written novelizations for. Here's the official word on the new Terminator book:
From award-winning author Timothy Zahn, writer of the New York Times bestseller Terminator Salvation: From the Ashes, comes Terminator Salvation: Trial By Fire, a brand-new spin-off novel following on directly from the events of the film.

(Aamir Khan, above.)
by Terry Keefe
To fans of Bollywood, even the most casual ones, actor-producer-director Aamir Khan needs no introduction. He is one of Indian cinema's most popular actors, and consequently, he is also one of the biggest stars in the world. Here in the United States, he is perhaps still best known to foreign film fans as the star and producer of the extremely successful 2001 release Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, the first feature shepherded by Khan's production company, Aamir Khan Productions. Khan isn't known for doing a tremendous amount of interviews, so the opportunity to speak with him recently was one that I jumped at. Khan was in the United States as part of the promotional tour for Peepli Live, the new feature which Khan has produced, but has opted not to star in.

On the forested slopes of the mountains, a man battles through the trees relentlessly pursued by a Terminator.
The Resistance have won a crucial battle, but the war is far from over. As Skynet’s tactics become ever more subtle and deadly, the humans must figure out how they will fight back and who will lead the charge.

If I were teaching a course on capital punishment in America, I would begin and end in Texas, which has earned over the years its reputation for being just about the worst place in America to be put on trial for capital murder. I’d start with the famous Atlantic magazine article from 2003 called the “Texas Clemency Memos.” Writer Alan Berlow did a masterful job there of explaining how the future president of the United States, George W. Bush, and the future attorney general of the United States, Alberto Gonzales, mismanaged Texas’s clemency system a full decade ago. To call the piece an “eye-opener” is to do it disservice. Next, I’d share with my students a more recent look at law and justice in Texas—a worthy piece titled “Trial by Fire: Did Texas Execute an Innocent Man”—written by David Grann for The New Yorker. Grann...

When Can Can celebrated the release of their first LP, All Hell, at the Drunken Unicorn with fellow Atlanta bands Tenth To The Moon and The Swear, Paste:Local's photographer was there to capture all the pop-punk craziness. (Note: Trial By Fire also performed, but unfortunately none of us arrived in time to see them play.)
It was a night celebrating the lead singer, the front-person of every act looming larger than life. Elizabeth Elkins led The Swear with a thundering certainty. Same goes for Mitchell Foy, who fronted Tenth To The Moon in face paint and strategically ripped clothing-- the music seemed irreversibly bound to the band's costuming concept.
