The entire sequence in the police station where Bade and Chhote Miyan impersonate police officers to free Sharafat Ali was a word-to-word copy of a scene from the Pakistani play "Humsa Ho To Samne Aye", written by and starring Pakistani legend Umer Shariff.
Although a guest appearance, this is the only time Madhuri Dixit managed to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan.
This film and Lal Badshah were the last film of Amitabh Bachchan in leading role. Then he started to play central role like in Mohabatein and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham.
Juhi Chawla was the original choice for Ramya's role.
