Milla Jovovich has hinted that she might reprie her role as Leeloo in an animated spinoff of The Fifth Element. While promoting her upcoming film In the Lost Lands, she mentioned working with filmmaker Luc Besson again and suggested he may already be developing “some sort of spinoff of a bunch of his characters.” This is the first mention of such a project, but it’s already generating excitement among fans.
Jovovich elaborated, saying, “I think Luc is making some sort of spinoff of a bunch of his biggest characters, and Leeloo might be one of them. An animated, cartoon version. I think back in those days, people weren’t thinking about sequels, it was just about making the best movie you could possibly make. For me, Leeloo was one of the most important characters of my young life at that point. It’s what really introduced me to what...

Cameron Diaz has shared how different she finds working on movie production sets, after a decade away from the screen.
In an interview on the SkipIntro podcast, Diaz shared: “The industry is so different. I mean, I definitely have to say that MeToo changed everything. You walk on to the set and it is different. There was always just like that one guy, you know, on set, that you were like, ‘God, here he comes again’.
“There was always layers and layers of inappropriateness that you just kind of had to put up with.”
Diaz has been away from the screen for 10 years, concentrating on family life, but was persuaded to come out of retirement to make a pair of films for streamer Netflix, her first one being action-comedy Back in Action, co-starring Jamie Foxx.
Diaz said she was approached by human resources prior to filming to discuss appropriate behaviour,...

“Heart Eyes,” in theaters this weekend, is a one-of-a-kind accomplishment.
It’s a slasher movie that is just as much a romantic comedy and vice versa. It’s not trying to be either of these things, it just is. Stars Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt have genuine chemistry, so when their meet-cute is interrupted by the Heart Eyes Killer, a serial murderer who has been stalking couples for years, you’re rooting for their continued survival, not the least of which because you want to see their relationship blossom. It’s odd to call a movie with this much arterial spray cute, but it really is cute.
And the movie feels like even more of an accomplishment because it maintains the quirks and charms of its director Josh Ruben, who is making his studio movie debut. Ruben is a veteran of CollegeHumor, the online comedy site, and his two features,...

Throughout Josh Ruben’s brilliant new Valentine’s Day slasher “Heart Eyes,” potential suspects and would-be victims reference real romantic comedies. “My Best Friend’s Wedding.” “Crazy Stupid Love.” “Pretty Woman.” Whatever your preferred chick flick — combined with the predator-prey mania of “My Bloody Valentine” (and just a touch of the goofiness in “Scream 6”) — that should be enough to compel you toward this giddy and graphic whodunit. It’s a freaky celebration that confirms holiday horror, if it ever left, is so back, and a standout achievement in the deceptively dense category of recent romances across genre comedy.
Silly, slick, and self-aware, the latest farce from the “Werewolves Within” director is laugh-out-loud funny and boasts pops of gore that earn the comparison to Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving.” Although the killer pilgrim movie from 2023 is more stomach-churning than Ruben’s film, this nutty blend of hyper-violence and one-liners is a dark comedic delicacy.

There is really nothing that is not completely predictable about Amazon Prime Video’s latest big budget romantic comedy, but with Reese Witherspoon back in the genre, and Will Ferrell doing what he does best, the chemistry is there, and so are some laughs, including a real Lol moment involving Ferrell and an uncooperative alligator that is a good reason comedies should probably best be seen with a crowd. Unfortunately, despite its stars and fan-friendly genre, this one is straight to streaming. At least in a Valentine’s Day period, You’re Cordially Invited qualifies more appropriately as a far more pleasant date movie than the horror and action Valentine’s movie the studios have planned this year. It isn’t going to make you forget My Best Friend’s Wedding, Bridesmaids and Father Of The Bride anytime soon, but it’ll do, even as the ‘R’ rating here seems a little harsh.

Weddings are such fertile ground for star-driven comedies it seems impossible to reinvent the sub-genre. A few manage to add a new spin to a setting that has been codified by the likes of “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “Wedding Crashers,” and “27 Dresses.” “Palm Springs” is an excellent recent example, for instance. “Anyone But You” was less creative but more financially successful thanks to the hottie pair of Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney.
Into this fray enters “You’re Cordially Invited,” written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, whose efforts include “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Neighbors.” Destined for streaming on Prime Video (like so many comedies these days), this matrimonial romp stars Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. While it’s often funny thanks to an excellent supporting cast, it also drags on too long, and comes to an unearned rom-com conclusion. Let’s just say Ferrell and Witherspoon do not ignite the screen opposite one another,...

Julia Roberts Shared Beliefs (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Julia Roberts, known for Pretty Woman and Notting Hill, has always been selective about nudity on-screen. Now, she’s sharing why she avoided stripping down in her roles.
In an interview with screenwriter Richard Curtis for British Vogue, Roberts shared her perspective. She said, “I think it would be more to the point that the things I choose not to do represent me.” For Roberts, it wasn’t about criticizing others who made different choices but rather preserving a certain integrity. “Not to be criticising others’ choices, but for me to not take off my clothes in a movie or be physically vulnerable is a choice that I guess I make for myself.”
This conscious decision aligns with her carefully curated, G-rated career. From My Best Friend’s Wedding to Runaway Bride, Roberts built a reputation for playing charming, relatable, and occasionally steamy roles...

After the release of 2014’s Annie, in which Cameron Diaz played Miss Hannigan, Diaz took a break from acting. By 2018, when she reunited with her co-stars from The Sweetest Thing for an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she described herself as “retired,” and stayed that way for the next several years — until now. Today sees the release of Back in Action, a straight-to-Netflix feature film that lured Diaz back onto a film set. At an event in October, Diaz explained that she had stepped away from her professional career because she had to “reclaim” her life and that what she was “passionate” about at the time was building her family, but that she agreed to Back in Action to re-team with her Annie co-star: “I couldn’t say no to Jamie.”

Carrie Preston got her start in theater, but her best movies and TV shows prove that Preston is a brilliant character actor. Today, Preston is the star of the The Good Wife spinoff series Elsbeth. It took decades for that starring role to happen though, as the actor has long played supporting roles and been able to completely disappear into her characters without the average audience member realizing roles were played by the same actress.
Preston’s best movies and TV shows are the kinds of projects where she does her best character work. Even in small scenes, Preston is able to dig into her roles and make them completely her own. Much of her best work has been done on television where she has a longer chance to play with those characters, but Preston still has quite a few great movie roles as well.

Combined star power only takes this overfamiliar caper so far, let down by an unfunny script and a lack of originality
The last time we saw Cameron Diaz on screen, it was way back in 2014. The star, who had been such a magnetic force in Being John Malkovich, My Best Friend’s Wedding and There’s Something About Mary, had checked out with a trio of pale production line films that represented what we’d grimly come to expect at that stage of her career. Diaz had once easily moved between dark and light as well as large and small, had smoothed out any of her more interesting edges to become one of the industry’s highest-paid yet most boringly unchallenged stars. That year saw her lost in the juvenile comedies The Other Woman and Sex Tape before being horrendously miscast in a dud remake of Annie and not long after, she chose to retire,...

Cameron Diaz is not looking to put a label on her Hollywood return.
The actress, who just made her onscreen comeback with Netflix’s Back in Action following a 10-year hiatus, recently shared with Empire magazine if this means she’s back for good.
“I don’t know how I view it. It’s hard to say,” she explained. “If I say it then it becomes this thing. I reserve the right to say no to doing a movie ever again, and I reserve the right to say yes if I decide to. I’m not defining anything. I’m just open to whatever makes sense for me and my family at any given moment.”
The Charlie’s Angels star, who appeared in numerous rom-coms in the late ’90s and 2000s, also clarified which film genre she wasn’t necessarily looking to revisit. “No more rom-coms, only mom-coms,” she added.

With the release of Cameron Diaz's new movie, Back in Action, many may be wondering what prompted her to quit acting for 10 years and what's next for the star following her triumphant return. Cameron Diaz first rose to fame in the 1990s after starring in movies like My Best Friend's Wedding and There's Something About Mary. She quickly solidified herself as a talented actor in both dramas and comedies, becoming one of the most recognizable stars in Hollywood in the process. However, Cameron Diaz opted to retire from acting after 2014.
Diaz's first film after her 10-year hiatus is Netflix's Back in Action, in which Diaz leads the cast alongside Jamie Foxx. Julia Roberts was an ‘it-girl’ long before the word was even invented. The world was watching her and everyone either wanted to be her or with her. With one blockbuster coming out after another, she was the talk of the town and deserved every second of it. Amid this, it is only natural that rumors also entered the scene.

Being heavily covered by the media in the 90s’ and 2000s’, a large percentage of news about her had little credibility. One of the more well-known whispers about her personal life was that she was feuding with her Stepmom co-star, Susan Sarandon.
However, unlike other rumors, this was actually debunked by both actresses in the most iconic way possible.

The journey of an actress in Hollywood can be different in many ways. Some may stick to one specific genre, while others branch out as far as the industry may allow them. There is no telling if this is a good or a bad thing, but there are plenty of examples of both among the industry’s finest.
Two of the biggest examples are Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock. Where one is best known for its impact on the romantic-comedy genre, the other has tried her hand at everything and cannot be recognized for doing one specific thing.

Now that we’re halfway through Chicago Fire Season 13, it’s time to rank some of its biggest moments so far.
A lot has happened over the first eight episodes, and not all of it has been as memorable as we’d hoped.
But overall, there has been more excitement and drama than downtime, and the season started off with a bang. Let’s get into it!
(NBC/Peter Gordon) Best Episode: Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 4
I’ve been pretty open about the fact that Violet and Lizzie are my favorite characters.
So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the best episode of the season so far largely centered the two of them.

Hulu's uproarious murder mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building returned for its fourth season in 2024, and season 5 is on the way. Led by the incomparable trio of Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, Only Murders in the Building follows an unlikely trio of friends as they investigate homicides that take place in their swanky New York City apartment building. The driving force behind the story is the gang's successful podcast, and the irreverent series cleverly pokes fun at the modern true crime obsession while also highlighting humorous generational clashes.
Season 4 takes the series to all new heights as Mabel (Gomez), Oliver (Short), and Charles (Martin) got a taste of stardom as a film is produced based on their podcast, which also led to some epic celebrity cameos. Meanwhile, the murder of Charles' long-time stunt double, Sazz (Jane Lynch), gives the podcasters a new case to become obsessed with.

Julia Roberts became rom-com royalty in the 1990s after starring in some of the best movies of the decade, and she saved her reputation by turning down a sequel to one of her most popular rom-coms. Julia Roberts’ career began in 1987 with an uncredited role in the direct-to-video movie Firehouse. Roberts’ big break arrived the following year when she played Daisy in the rom-com drama Mystic Pizza, and the following year she played Shelby in the drama Steel Magnolias, for which she got her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
In the 1990s, Roberts explored different genres, such as sci-fi with Flatliners, thriller with Sleeping with the Enemy, and fantasy with Hook. However, Roberts’ strength in the 1990s was rom-coms, starring in Pretty Woman, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Notting Hill, and Runaway Bride. While House of the Dragon’s Otto Hightower is the symbol of nobility and Westerosi politics, actor Rhys Ifans, who portrays him is reportedly a clown on set. Co-stars such as Milly Alcock and Fabien Frankel detailed how they hate to be in a scene with Ifans as he tries to break them from character every time, sometimes without even saying anything.
The actor seems to have made this a habit as actress Julia Roberts also recounted struggling to keep it together while sharing the screen with The Amazing Spider-Man star. The two worked together on the romantic comedy Notting Hill, which also starred Hugh Grant in the lead role.

Hollywood’s Sweetheart, Julia Roberts, has been one of the industry’s most beloved icons for decades. The actress rose to stardom with her unforgettable role in Pretty Woman and has ever since reigned both in romantic comedies and dramatic roles like Notting Hill, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Steel Magnolias, and Erin Brokovich.
Ever since Roberts skyrocketed to fame in the ‘80s, her dating life has been a bit like a rom-com plot itself. Fans followed her romances with some of Hollywood’s biggest names. Roberts has been married twice, although her first marriage was short-lived, her second marriage with Danny Moder has been the real love story for over two decades now. Together, they share three children, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and a son, Henry.

Why Did Julia Roberts Turn Down A Major Hollywood Rom-Com? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Julia Roberts, the rom-com queen, reportedly passed on The Proposal. The movie that gave us Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock’s epic chemistry could’ve had Julia in the lead. But she said no. Bullock took it from there, turning it into a rom-com classic.
Here’s the kicker: Roberts didn’t ghost the rom-com world by choice. “If I had read something at the Notting Hill or My Best Friend’s Wedding level, I would’ve done it,” she spilled to The New York Times. Basically, she has been holding out for that perfect, laugh-out-loud script—and trust us, the wait has been real.
