A new team of antiheroes is preparing to take over the MCU next year, teasing plenty of Avengers-sized action sequences.
Ahead of the film’s May 2, 2025 premiere, Disney and Marvel Studios debuted a new special look at Thunderbolts* during Saturday’s D23 Expo in Brazil, starting with an explosive desert chase scene.
The sneak peek features the titular crew of antiheroes traveling a deserted highway in Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian’s (David Harbour) big red limo when a military convoy begins tailing them and opening fire. As Yelena Bolova/Black Widow (Florence Pugh) hangs out the passenger’s side window to return fire, the humvees are somehow blown to pieces.
Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier rides through the wreckage on a motorcycle with a much bigger weapon in hand. “That guy’s so cool,” raves Red Guardian, shortly before Bucky stops and shoots up their vehicle with an expolosive.

Venom: The Last Dance is a fun movie, but there's one moment which has left pretty much everyone scratching their heads.
The threequel establishes that Eddie Brock and Venom must not fully transform because doing so will activate their Codex and bring Knull's Xenophage immediately to their location. It's a major plot point.
Despite that, when the Lethal Protector is reunited with Mrs. Chen in Last Vegas, Venom fully transforms for an extended dance sequence which brings the Xenophage to their location, risks her life, and leads to them being captured by Imperium.
Now, an extended clip featuring this bizarre Venom: The Last Dance moment has been officially released. Whether you're seeing this for the first time or experiencing it all over again, it paints this character in a whole new light.
Then again, a movie with a title like this surely needed a literal dance scene, right?

Here’s why the Brazilian President blamed Leonardo DiCaprio (Photo Credit – Amazon Prime Video)
Imagine this: Leonardo DiCaprio, the eco-warrior of Hollywood, accused of bankrolling fire-raisers in the Amazon. Yes, Leonardo is the guy who gave us The Revenant and pretty much every other environmental PSA you can think of. In a head-scratching twist, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro went live on Facebook in late 2019. He aimed Leo and his deep pockets, bizarrely claiming, “DiCaprio, you’re collaborating with the burning of the Amazon.” I’m just casually tossing out that accusation with zero proof. But why? And what was even happening here?
Let’s rewind. In 2019, the Amazon rainforest was burning unprecedentedly, with smoke thick enough to catch global attention. Since he took office, Bolsonaro, a staunch promoter of “economic development” in the Amazon, had already been facing criticism for surging deforestation numbers. The situation was heating up, and Bolsonaro...

Her story, though personal, resonates with many in the industry who faced similar situations.
Bullock reflected on a pivotal moment early in her career, recounting an uncomfortable encounter with a “person of authority” while filming. “I kept deflecting it with humor, and it didn’t work,” she shared. The tension escalated until she reached her breaking point: “Finally, I said, ‘Please just fire me.’” This striking revelation highlights the problematic decisions women in Hollywood have faced for decades, often feeling cornered and powerless.
While she did not specify the individual involved in her harassment, Bullock’s mention of Weinstein revealed a more profound fear.

Venom 3 finally hit the screens a little over a week ago after a much-anticipated wait, and the hype surrounding it is still as high as ever. In a final mysterious run of events, both Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and his beloved symbiote are compelled to make a devastating decision after being on the run from an uncanny military man and alien monsters from Venom’s home world.

Plus, as much as this film spun as the final one in Hardy’s anti-hero trilogy as Brock, it also introduced fans to a base-level acknowledgment of Knull, one of the biggest baddies in the Marvel comics. But that didn’t lessen the piece’s vulnerability, as it was met with mixed reviews — praising one from general fans and brutally panned ones from critics — ceasing to amuse most critics.

Marvel Studios is laying the groundwork for the grand finale of its Multiverse Saga. Now, there are still a lot of movies to come out before we get there, but the new plan is in motion as the studio looks to create a Marvel Cinematic Universe moment much like it did with Avengers: Endgame. That moment will likely come in Avengers: Secret Wars.
The direct sequel to Avengers: Doomsday and the likely conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, it is expected to have the titular team of MCU heroes unite with heroes all across the multiverse in a bid to stop the dangerous Doctor Doom (who will be played by MCU legend Robert Downey Jr.). Fans are predicting that it will rival the iconic showdown between The Avengers and Thanos in Avengers: Endgame that brought about a close to the Infinity Saga.
That will no doubt be a moment in cinematic history if it does happen,...

With the Multiverse Saga nearing it's end with Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, the next saga is already close. With Disney's acquisition of Fox and it's rights to Marvel characters like the X-Men, it is likely the next Saga will focus on the mutants and be called the The Phoenix Saga. However, the world of the MCU is still occupied by the Avengers and other superheroes. So, here's a look at what the trilogies and appearances of these characters could look like.
1. Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps
Although the next Spider-Man movie is set for 2026, the trilogy will expand beyond the current Saga:
Spectacular Spider-Man (2026): follows a street-level Spider-Man fighting Kingpin (and Scorpion as his muscle) with the help of Daredevil. With Mj and Ned off to college, this is a good opportunity to introduce new friends: Harry Osborn for Peter Parker, and Black Cat as foil for Spider-Man.

Although The Flash gained a reputation for its tragic decline in quality, the series did help in forming some very meaningful bonds among its castmates. Grant Gustin and the rest of the main cast got to be a part of the series for nine seasons, getting to bond through the high and low ratings and the many months spent on the sets.

With this, it is not surprising that their bonds left the confines of a professional environment, all of them connecting with each other on a personal level. Through these trials, a lot of the conflicts they have faced haven’t always been fictional in the series.
One of the most notable ones has to be the choice of casting Candice Patton in the role of Iris West.

The best thing about Kevin Feige’s Marvel is the end-credit scenes. They are almost always so juicy that you have no other option but to wait impatiently for the next film. Like how Thor: Ragnarok set the entire scene for the impending doom called Thanos, Marvel Studios knows how to keep their audience begging for more. However, where there are hits, there will be misses, and a great example of a “miss” is the whole Spider-Man and Venom debacle that happened.

Tom Holland and Austin Butler are to star in American Speed – Amazon MGM’s film about cars, corruption and criminality.
Both Tom Holland and Austin Butler are riding a wave of popularity at the moment. It was announced in September that the stars would be combining for American Speed, a film about car racing, drug smuggling and brotherly love. Dan Wiedenhaupt is writing the script, which is based on the true story of the Whittington brothers – a trio of successful racing car drivers who were arrested for drug trafficking and tax evasion in the 1980s.
As far as we know, no director is yet in place, nor do we know who will be playing the third brother. However, what we have learned thanls to Deadline is that Amazon MGM have picked up the film, reportedly after Warner Bros and Paramount both passed on the project. Hopefully, that means we can...

The MCU’s upcoming slate continues to face a whole lot of shifting, but for now at least, there’s still a lot more Marvel TV on the way.
At the start of 2022, there were 12 new Marvel Studios series slated to premiere on the streaming platform in the coming months/years, along with two returning series. Then, the studio announced a few more at San Diego Comic-Con. Now, as 2024 speeds to a close, many of those have come and gone. But like we said, there are still more yet.
Of course, it’s hard for anyone to keep track of all these series in their head. So, we went ahead and compiled a list for you of every confirmed Marvel TV show currently in the works to premiere on Disney+.
Below, you’ll find all the information we have about the MCU’s upcoming slate of TV shows, from “Daredevil: Born Again...

It was a pretty darn quiet weekend at the box office as most studios seemingly wanted to either A) avoid competing with the election or B) wait for greener postures offered by the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday window. Either way, it created a situation where Sony's "Venom: The Last Dance" was easily able to top the charts again with a relatively solid $26.1 million estimated second weekend haul. That's good for the studio in the short run. In the long run? It presents Sony with a quandary that they're probably going to need to address sooner rather than later.
As of this writing, director Kelly Marcel's "The Last Dance" has pulled in $90 million domestically to go with an outsized $227 million internationally for a running total of $317 million worldwide. After two weekends in theaters, that's not bad for a movie with a reasonable $120 million budget. "Reasonable" is a relative term in this arena,...

To paraphrase Wesley Snipes as Blade in this summer’s blockbuster “Deadpool & Wolverine”: There’s only one “Barbenheimer.” There’s only ever gonna be one “Barbenheimer.”
Hollywood might never replicate the je ne sais quoi that prompted the explosion of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” double features, turning the box office battle between two very different films into a once-in-a-generation cinematic event. But multiplex owners are hoping that “Wicked” and “Gladiator II” achieve something close as the pink-and-green musical and the Colosseum-set action epic land in theaters on Nov. 22.
“It won’t happen in the same way, but the conversation around ‘Wicked’ and ‘Gladiator’ is reminiscent of ‘Barbenheimer,’” says Shawn Robbins, Fandango’s director of movie analytics. “They’re fueling each other.”
Whether or not “Glicked” is the second coming of “Barbenheimer,” there’s mounting pressure on Thanksgiving movies — Disney’s “Moana 2” swims to the big screen on Nov.

A lot of activity is being revealed with Tom Holland. The MCU Spider-Man star will be making a film with Christopher Nolan, then he’s slated to work on the next Avengers as well as the follow-up to Spider-Man: No Way Home. The production with Nolan is expected to kick off in early 2025, with Universal already slating the film for an IMAX release on July 17, 2026. In addition to directing and writing the film, Nolan will also produce with Emma Thomas under their Syncopy banner.
Holland is lining up more non-mcu projects as Deadline reports he’s now set to join Austin Butler on American Speed. The film was fiercely bid on by studios with Amazon MGM winning the project. The package included having Holland and Butler attached to star in the movie. The influence of Western comics on Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia has always been evident. All Might’s illustrations are often portrayed in the Western comics art style, and the mangaka has admitted his love for comics on more than one occasion.
My Hero Academia itself is full of references to Western superheroes. The series’ influence from Western comics and homage to them is probably one of the many factors that led to its overseas popularity.

The creation of All Might gave Kohei Horikoshi the idea to sprinkle in American comic elements and references in My Hero Academia. However, the author’s love for comics began in 2002 with the release of the first Spider-Man movie in the Sam Raimi trilogy. In an interview, the author was asked if he saw Spider-Man as an extension of Japanese ‘special effects heroes.

The Sony Spider-Man Universe (Ssu) has struggled over the past few years, with most recent films doing poorly at the box office and getting negative reviews. However, Venom: The Last Dance has changed things around, proving to be a solid addition to the series and a big hit in theaters, especially in Asian markets.
We know that Spider-Man: Noir is currently in development, and early reactions to set leaks have been very positive. Plus, there are a few other rumored projects in the works.
Industry insider Daniel Richtman, known for his reliable track record, now suggests that Sony may be expanding its most popular franchise. According to Richtman, an Agent Venom movie is currently in development.

Superhero films are famously expensive, as most of us know. When you see those massive budgets, it’s easy to assume most of it goes toward the writers, directors, actors, and, especially, the CGI team, given how heavily these films rely on digital effects.
But the cost of some of the costumes might actually surprise you! While some suits are enhanced or even fully created through CGI, others are meticulously designed and crafted by hand—and those can come with a hefty price tag.
A recent example is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man suit from Spider-Man: Far From Home. While it may look like a relatively simple spandex suit, the actual cost is astonishing! In this report, we’ll dive into the details of just how much went into creating this iconic outfit—stick with us to find out!

It’s the final week of the month meaning that there aren’t a lot of new releases. Does that mean there aren’t any good comic books to pick up? Of course not! Marvel Comics and Boom! Studios have you covered.
As always, let’s start with the pick of the week.
Amazing Spider-Man No. 60 (pick of the week)Writers: Zeb Wells and Joe KellyArtists: Ed McGuinness, Mark Buckingham, Paolo Rivera, Patrick Gleason, Todd Nauck, and Alessandro Cappuccio
This is the final issue of Zeb Wells’ run. Love it or hate it (and I loved it), but it was consistently purchased and talked about every month. But everything must come to an end. In this finale, the story will lead into the next Spidey tale, The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man.
This is an oversized Amazing Spider-Man that will likely have conclusions to most of Zeb Wells’ storylines. Will Mary Jane and Paul stay together?...

Was Mary Jane Watson almost removed from The Amazing Spider-Man 2? (Photo Credit – Netflix)
Mary Jane Watson was ready to strut her stuff in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But she didn’t. Instead, she disappeared. Shailene Woodley wanted to bring that fiery redhead to life, but the final cut didn’t have her.
Now, let’s take a trip down memory lane. Mj first crashed the Marvel Comics party back in 1965—and nope, she wasn’t just another pretty face. She gave Gwen Stacy a severe run for her money! After Gwen’s exit, courtesy of the Green Goblin, Mj swooped in, ready to make sparks fly. Kirsten Dunst nailed it as Mj in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, while Zoë Kravitz brought her voice to life in Into the Spider-Verse.
When filming started for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in early 2013, everyone was splitting up about Woodley stepping into the redhead’s shoes.

USA Today has shared a new promo still for Sony Pictures' Kraven the Hunter as part of their Holiday preview, giving us another look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular Spider-Man... villain?
Kraven may have been a fairly ruthless bad guy in the comics, but this take on the character appears to be a lot more heroic - even if he is fond of doling out pretty extreme justice to his enemies.
The first 8 minutes of the movie were recently screened during New York Comic-Con, and the sequence featured Kraven stalking and killing multiple foes in a prison. The violence was said to be surprisingly gruesome, and a second clip with "multiple very brutal kills" including murder by bear trap, axe, and tree stump - which reportedly splits someone straight down the middle - was also shown.
"He's an apex predator, the top of the food chain," said Johnson during the panel.

Tom Holland and Austin Butler to play race car-driving brothers in true crime drama ‘American Speed’
Tom Holland and Austin Butler are getting behind the wheel together. The in-demand actors have signed on to play real-life brothers who were race car drivers and crooks in “American Speed,” a film package that just sold to Amazon MGM Studios, according to Deadline.
Holland (the Spider-Man films) and Butler (Academy Award nominee for “Elvis”) will play two of the three Whittington brothers, who were star race car drivers in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Two of the brothers, Don and Bill, got caught up in a scandal at the Imsa Motorsport Association, where their team was funding their racing activities with money earned from marijuana smuggling. Their story lends itself to a “Scarface”-era period piece with fast cars, fast boats, lots of money, and a rise-and-fall narrative, or “Blow” meets “The Iron Claw.”

Rumors surrounding the next installment in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man IP have been quite erratic so far. While some suggested that the MCU might lean towards a more grounded story for Holland’s Peter, other reports alleged that the Cinematic giant is once again going for a multiversal epic.

According to one alleged leak, it seems the latter might be more in line with MCU’s scheme of things, which hasn’t sat well with fans, as most have been craving for a story that takes the character back to its roots.
