Who can forget Duck Hunt? The game that shared an NES cartridge with Super Mario is a piece of video game history.
The player had the choice of playing to shoot (with the NES "zapper") one duck, two ducks, or clay pellets. If the player chose to shoot the ducks, then you would see the cartoon dog, added in for much needed comic effect. The action became faster and faster as the player climbed the levels.
They need to bring back this classic game for Game Cube!

This was perhaps the very first game utlilizing the Light gun with Ninendo console. Basically you could shoot at the ducks by aiming and pointing the gun at your TV screen. Gameplay is pretty limited and as level progress, the ducks become faster and more agile and more numerous as well but thats it. Despite the very limited offering in gameplay, this game was indeed a somewhat accurate test of aiming skill. The Dog in this game was pretty annoying and very memorable for that reason. Too bad you could never shoot the dog itself. This game can get pretty monotenous and boring after a while. In the area dominated by newer games, it would be quickly abandoned.
"Duck Hunt" for sure is an NES classic as this game and console came with "Super Mario Brothers" as part of the deal when I received my gaming system in the late 80's. And I must say this game was a fun winner, really an easy play as with the gun zapper you as the player just aimed and fired at flying ducks on the screen. It was nice downing duck and seeing your score go up, however the higher the level the faster the ducks got and the quicker they flew as your reaction time and hand eye speed and trigger pull on the zapper needed to be faster and quicker! Heck even my grandfather played this game some and enjoyed it. Need I say more an early classic video game that helped launch the NES era to a famed start.
Player 2 could control the ducks. But the real fun was the clay pigeons, and then the competition. It was a single player game, but it was always the competition that made it fun.
Just trying to beat your dad's score... or uncles, or friends, or siblings, the crown of out shooting someone, with a cord that had to be stretched back as far as it would go to count.
It was a classic.

This is one of the first video games I have ever played. In this game, you have to shoot at birds. If you miss one, a dog jumps out of the bushes and start laughing at you. If you didn't miss, the dog will hold up the bird that you shot down. You can choose to shoot at one or two birds at the same time. I would warn you the game gets harder, when you reach a higher level.
I give this game 7 out of 10

A somewhat fun game, and one of the few that worked really well with the Nintendo zapper gun. The object was shooting ducks and clay pigeons as well. During the duck portion of the game you had to take out a couple of ducks. You hit one or two and your faithful retrieving dog would hold them up in triumph! You miss both, he laughs at you. If that dog laughed at you, you were pretty bad as hitting at least one of those ducks no matter how fast was rather easy and this is coming from a less than stellar gamer from back in the days. I mean, someone featured the dog as one of the most annoying characters in video game history, but if you did not suck, he would not snicker at you. In the arcade you could actually shoot the dog, why this was removed in the NES version I am not sure. Probably because they did not want to promote shooting your laughing dog. The clay pigeons were a bit more difficult to hit, so it was more of a challenge, but the game play just was not as fun as there was no dog and the landscape was rather bland. Still, it was a great start up game for the NES and the zapper.
One of the best game we played with brothers, cousins, and friends. I just miss those days. I am super sad that some day I am going to die and leave these all memories behind

Duck Hunt is neither a great game, nor an incredible achievement in the video game world, but it sure brings back memories. The Nintendo Zapper was, at the time, the coolest thing on the planet. If you have never played this classic, well, you don't deserve to live.
This game was a favourite of mine on the NES when I was little. It has a gun for a controller but it really isn't violent at all, especially next to some of these more recent games rated M for Mature on the newer consoles like the PS2 or 3 and Wii. I think I wanted to play Duck Hunt almost as much as I wanted to visit my nana (It was my brother's system when he was a kid but when he got the Super Nintendo the original NES got left at my nana's house for what she might call "newfangled entertainment for the grandkids"...) I also remember that this game was in the 3-in-1 cartridge with Mario and World Class Track Meet and by the time I was old enough to remember, World Class Track Meet was useless as we had permanently misplaced the necessary Power Pad, so we might as well have just had the original 2-in-1 cartridge (Whether I was playing Mario or Duck Hunt I remember I used to punch an entirely random code into the Game Genie, and I'd have been surprised if I ever came up with a real code, though it's impossible to remember).
Anyways, on to Duck Hunt. CLASSIC! Yes, it is repetitive. This may have actually been one reason for liking it as a child (I found out in my late teens that I was autistic, and we like routines and we like everything to be the same to the point where I have to order the same specific meal every time I go to a certain restaurant, but I digress). Also in my time as a young adult when I rediscovered Duck Hunt it didn't take me long to become utterly addicted (though I hate when that dog, who looks remarkably like Willoughby from the 1941 Bugs Bunny cartoon "The Heckling Hare", laughs at me for failing to shoot a duck).
Overall, I feel it is only necessary to say that this game will live on forever for those who remember playing it in its heyday. 10 stars out of 10.

I have played this NES game with Super Mario Bros and I hated this game. You're required to shoot a certain amount of ducks and the levels repeat and there's no ending to this game and the dog is annoying every time and when you mess up he laughs in your face. Seriously this the worst shooting game I've ever played. I'd rather play Police Trainer arcade which is more fun this boring shooting game.
I would not play this game at all, if you want a fun game play the Wii Play game instead or something that's more fun.

Seriously. This is probably the most boring NES game I have ever played. It beats out Yoshi's Cookie for one of the worst Nintendo games made. You basically shoot ducks with the gun thing, boring. If I wanted a light gun game type of thing I'd buy House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Return on the Wii or just go to Funtime America and play classic gun games such as CarnEvil and The House Of The Dead. This game is overrated and very very boring. I only recommend this to people wanting to waste their lives away, unless you're just playing for pure nostalgia, which I have none for this game.

Duck Hunt is one of the most exciting video games! The characters, the action, the shooting, and the sure thrill of excitement makes this game a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!
Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!
Graphics: The graphics are wonderful especially for the Nintendo System! The backgrounds are really beautiful!
Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you find out that it will become more difficult!
Music: The music is great! Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!
Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!
Overall: I have always loved Duck Hunt! If you like shooting and sports games then I strongly recommend you play this game!
