Mario Lopez did alot of his own stunts for this film including the drop from the helicopter during the film's climax.
Marcus LaVoi who plays one of Franco's henchmen was a real life Prison guard who was still working for the Department of Corrections in California while still making this film.
Dr. Drake says that she graduated from Harvard and had worked as a regular doctor at one point. It can be inferred that she enjoyed being a mob doctor using her specialty for the highest bidder which explains her wardrobe that includes expensive boots, dresses, and coats that she is wearing when she appears along with a designer lab coat with the initial "D" on it seen during Franco's heart operation.
Mario Lopez and Ali Landry actually fell in love during the making of this film and eventually got married soon after.
Tava Smiley was a last minute replacement for another actress who did not show up for the role of Emma. She literally drove one whole night to San Diego where the shoot was taking place.
