Although a Blu-ray of The Hot Chick (2002) was planned to be released in 2012 for its 10th anniversary, it has never been released. As of 2023, no physical copy of the film exists outside of its original 2003 DVD and VHS release.

The MPAA originally gave the film an R rating, but it was re-rated PG-13 rating on appeal (without cuts).
Adam Sandler: As the Mambuza Bongo Guy. Sandler's role is loosely based on a hippie clerk character that Rob Schneider played on an Saturday Night Live (1975) sketch whose catch phrase was, "You put your weed in there." His scene was filmed on the eighth day of shooting.
