Game of Thrones started off as a great show and arguably became one of the best things on TV in its prime. The vast and sprawling narrative along with the intricate characters made us fall in love with George R.R. Martin’s world. Yet, in the end, it made many mistakes and left fans disappointed. But House of the Dragon, its prequel, restored people’s faith in the franchise.

However, it seems like the showrunners are going to sabotage the one chance they have at rebuilding trust. The debut was promising and explored the events that led to the Targaryen Civil War, but it seems like the show is not immune to the mistakes made by its predecessors.

Unlike the more dreamlike scenarios in her most beloved rom-coms like Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally, Meg Ryan’s run in showbiz hasn’t been completely smooth. Despite once being one of the most dominating figures in the rom-com landscape after cementing her status as the girl next door, things took a nosedive for the actress after the ’90s.

Life’s too short to be anything but honest, but when it comes to the world of Yellowstone, it’s clear that honesty comes with its own share of drama. When news hit that Kevin Costner was stepping away from the show, fans were left wondering what exactly went down. The reality? It’s much messier than we thought.

At its peak, Yellowstone was the talk of the town. But things took a turn when news broke that Season 5 would be the last. Costner’s exit, reportedly to focus on Horizon: An American Saga, sparked rumors of tension with creator Taylor Sheridan. And if that wasn’t enough, it turned out that the Yellowstone team had no scripts for the second half of Season 5.
It was a mess, plain and simple.

Exclusive: Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn (Proof) has been tapped to write a new draft of Another Round, the English-language remake of Thomas Vinterberg’s Oscar-winning Danish drama from 2020, which has Chris Rock on board to direct.
Rock joined the project in January, as we were first to report. At the time, he had a draft in hand from Stuart Blumberg but was looking for another writer with which to partner. We’re told Auburn landed the job after a long search, beating out maybe 200 scribes in the process.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions secured the remake rights to Another Round shortly after the film landed the Best International Feature prize at the Academy Awards. We’re told that the project is picking up steam now that Auburn is involved, though Rock did just sign on to direct and star in Misty Green, a Hollywood drama for which he wrote the script,...

It's hard to imagine that Kurt Russell would get anywhere near the vicinity of stressed when it comes to being cast in a film. That being said, when that movie is being helmed by legendary director Quentin Tarantino, even the actor behind Snake Plissken starts to sweat a little. In a 2007 interview with IGN, the star of films like "The Thing," "Escape from New York," and "Tombstone" (only one of the best Westerns of all-time) explained that when it came to getting his gig in "Death Proof," he was already aware of the potential competition he was up against thanks to a call from Freddy Rodriguez.
Russell recalled the "Planet Terror" star telling him, "'I think Quentin's going to come to you with this movie.' He said, 'I think it was supposed to be Mickey Rourke, but I don't think that's happening. And there are some other guys they're talking about.

Kurt Russell has become one of the best-known Western movie stars working today, but his favorite movie is a love story filmed a decade before he was born, and not a Western. Russell began his acting career appearing in a wide range of genres, with some of his best-known roles being in action and horror movies. He had minor roles in early Western movies, but it was Russell's performance in the Western movie Tombstone that drew attention to his work in the genre. Still, it may be surprising to learn that Russell has only appeared in a few Westerns.
As an actor, Kurt Russell does not always restrict himself to one genre, with many of his characters embodying tropes from other types of movies, including Westerns. Guardians of the Galaxy's Ego has all the arrogance of a Western gunslinger, Eldon Perry in Dark Blue is arguably Russell's most underrated antihero role,...

General Hospital spoilers hint Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) cannot be Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) daughter.
That much has already been settled, though it’s too soon to say whether Gh writers plan to acknowledge they, or if they’ve completely forgotten about that DNA test Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) did earlier this year in an attempt to prove Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) was Mac Scorpio’s (John J. York) son.
Right now, it’s also difficult to gauge whether Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) truly believes that Robert is Sasha’s father and has always thought so, or whether she’s making it up.
But why would she? Sasha was just as confused as she tried to discern what kind of con her mother could be working that would cause her to make this up. The truth is, she’s probably not, but that doesn’t mean she’s right.

When it comes to unexpected but absolutely delightful crossovers, Jeopardy's subtle but clear Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City reference last night was a fantastic surprise.
Whether they watch it or not, pretty much everyone is familiar with Jeopardy, a popular and long-running game show known for its challenging nature, and once oft-contrasted to Wheel Of Fortune, which is far less complex.
Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City (or Rhoslc) is Real Housewives franchise introduced by Bravo in 2020, which is currently airing its fifth season.
As we've mentioned before, reality TV occupies a strange and commonly maligned place in pop culture its stars, its audience, and its content are all often relegated to the domain of "trash TV," a perception which is slowly changing.
In the summer, we reported on Daniel Radcliffe's appearance on a Bachelor podcast, where the actor openly professed both his love for and his emotional investment in the franchise.

Concord is getting the attention it deserves for all the wrong reasons. The gaming community was initially intrigued to see this new ambitious online multiplayer project take flight since it carries the PlayStation brand and the team behind the project are all veterans with years of experience to show for it. Unfortunately, after 8 years of hard work and millions of dollars, the game is removed from all storefronts after an embarrassingly poor reception.

People are starting to suspect that the drama between 90 Day Fiance married couple Angela Deem and Michael Illesanmi is all fake and just for ratings. As we all know it’s been pretty clear, at least on-screen, that Angela has been abusing Michael, or so it appears, for the duration of their time together on the show. Fans have constantly felt sorry for Michael and been on his side a lot of the time when Angela would rail on him and accuse him of cheating (even when there was no evidence that he did).
A lot of fans felt bad that he moved all the way from the only home he had ever known in Africa to be with a woman who promised to love, honor, and cherish him only to see that that clearly wasn’t the case going forward.

Plot details remain under wraps, but while it was previously rumored to be loosely inspired by a pro ping-pong player, the movie is said to be a fictionalized original film.
Paltrow’s most recent movie credit was five years ago in Avengers: Endgame, and she’s also starred in Sliding Doors, Proof, Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums, Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr. Ripley, David Fincher’s Seven, the Farrelly brothers’ Shallow Hal and Alfonso Cuarón’s Great Expectations during her long career.

The trailer for “The Fabulous Four,” starring Bette Midler, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Megan Mullally and Susan Sarandon has dropped, wedding bells galore.
Per the film’s logline, “‘The Fabulous Four’ is an uproarious comedy about a group of life-long friends who travel to Key West, Fla., to be bridesmaids in the surprise wedding of their best college girlfriend Marilyn (Midler). Over the course of one outrageous trip, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past resurfaces and there are enough sparks, raunch and romance to change all their lives in unexpected ways.”
The trailer sees Marilyn remarrying just two months after her husband died, Lou (Sarandon) coming out of her cat-lady shell and Kitty (Ralph) questioning Lou about a kegel ball Marilyn gave her. The four gear up for Marilyn’s wedding, although not without some bumps in the road, like Marilyn getting dethroned on TikTok by Lou.

Xbox has not been having the best year so far. It most recently came under fire for closing multiple Bethesda studios and having poor reception from Hellblade 2’s release. Now, the trillion-dollar company is receiving bad press again for putting ads upon booting up a current generation Xbox.
Hellblade 2 is being advertised to all players who boot up the console, whether they’ve played the game or not. While it won’t pop up again, this is setting a dangerous precedent that could lead to PlayStation and Nintendo following suit.
Xbox Pushing Ads – Who Asked For This? There’s better ways to advertise a game.
The newest Ninja Theory project is being advertised to all Xbox players on console start-up. On the menu, you can play the game through Game Pass or by purchasing it. In addition, you can watch the trailer to see what the game is all about.

As the word “diversity” became one of the most spoken in Hollywood on the wave of #OscarsSoWhite and #MeToo, Dr. Stacy L. Smith’s USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative became one of the foremost barometers of the entertainment industry’s success or lack thereof in bringing new, underrepresented voices into the production pipeline.
Now, with Dei executives resigning en masse and a far-right backlash to such initiatives on the rise, the program’s founder fears that Hollywood is in the midst of backslide, through no fault of the writers, directors and other creatives who got those new opportunities. Her team’s most recent study shows that despite the success of Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” 2023 saw a significant dip when it comes to representation in theatrical films.
“It’s not about their talent. It’s not about the audience. We know that for sure, in terms of our own economic analyses,” Smith told TheWrap.

As Easter Sunday approaches this weekend, we thought we’d “die” your eggs a little a differently. That is, we’re on the great hidden treasure hunt for some of the most colorful and delicious horror movie Easter eggs found in some of our favorite titles. But here’s the thing. Before Mary Elizabeth Winstead played the roles of comic book-based Ramona Flowers and John McClane’s daughter, she starred as Lee Montgomery in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. At the time, Winstead was making her mark in the horror slasher genre, even leading the ensemble cast of Final Destination 3. When she got the audition call for Death Proof, Winstead pulled off one little trick to get past the audition stage.

Winstead shared that she wore flip-flops to the audition to tap into the director’s alleged cinematic foot fetish. The Fargo actress managed to impress Tarantino with her take on Lee, rather than use her foot to get cast in the film.

The fake trailers in Grindhouse were a creative decision that added to the immersion of the double-feature. Planet Terror and Death Proof are very different from each other, just like the fictional trailers. Some of the fake trailers from Grindhouse later became full-length feature movies.
Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature Planet Terror and Death Proof contained several fake Grindhouse trailers, teasing several fictional exploitation movies — although some later got made. The trailers for Grindhouse movies in Rodriguez's Planet Terror and Tarantino's Death Proof were an incredibly creative directorial decision, as the world of fake movies they gave viewers a glimpse into increased the immersion of the double-feature. Grindhouse was a full experience with two feature-length segments, advertisements, in-theater announcements, and fake trailers for upcoming films, all in the style of B-movies with filters that make the images look deteriorated and effects to make them look jumpy and old.

Cate Blanchett and Coco Francini, who are partners in Dirty Films, along with Dr. Stacy L. Smith and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative have launched the Proof of Concept Accelerator Program.
Supported by Netflix, the program’s goal is to identify the next generation of filmmaking talent whose stories promote the perspectives of women, trans, and nonbinary people.
According to the latest annual report from Smith and Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, 6% of directors across 1,600 top-grossing movies were women and less than one-third of all speaking characters on screen in those movies were girls, women, trans or non-binary people. This lack of inclusion behind the camera and on screen means there are limited career opportunities for women, trans, and non-binary storytellers and those who want to bring their stories to the screen.

The big new release of the weekend is the prequel film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which is currently tracking for a $50 million domestic opening. That number would make it the first Hunger Games film to open under $100 million at the domestic box office with the last film in the franchise, 2015’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2 previously being the lowest at $102.6 million. The good news for this prequel that features the origins of President Snow (played by Donald Sutherland in the earlier films) is that it cost a modest (by today’s standards) $100 million. So with an opening in that $50 million range plus good word of mouth, this one has the potential to leg out over the holidays.

Quentin Tarantino believes one of the Rocky sequels is the best in the series, but he's mistaken. Tarantino has come close to working with Sylvester Stallone on two occasions. The first was Jackie Brown, with Stallone revealing years after the movie's release he was offered the role of Louis, which eventually went to Robert De Niro. Qt later approached Stallone about playing serial killer Stuntman Mike in Death Proof, which was his half of the horror movie double bill Grindhouse. Stallone passed, however, feeling uncomfortable about playing a character who murders young women; Kurt Russell ended up playing Mike in Death Proof.
Tarantino is a great admirer of Stallone's work and devoted a chapter to Paradise Alley in his non-fiction book Cinema Speculation. Paradise Alley is a period drama that was Stallone's follow-up to Rocky, and he also wrote and directed the film. It's largely forgotten now, but Tarantino is...

Exclusive: Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind) has been tapped for a prominent role opposite Robert De Niro, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen and Connie Britton in Netflix’s limited series Zero Day, the six-episode conspiracy thriller from creators Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim and Michael S. Schmidt.
Gathegi will play Carl, an intense bureaucrat and loyalist of De Niro’s former U.S President George Mullen.
Falling under a deal between Netflix and Newman’s Grand Electric Productions, Zero Day asks the question, how do we find truth in a world in crisis, one seemingly being torn apart by forces outside our control? And in an era rife with conspiracy theory and subterfuge, how much of those forces are products of our own doing, perhaps even of our own imagining?

Major Crimes, the continuation series of The Closer, ran for an incredible six seasons, totaling over 100 episodes,
While the show didn't receive as much critical acclaim as The Closer and didn't earn any Emmys, the show was a success for TNT.
The ensemble-driven Major Crimes featured many of the same characters and performers as its predecessor, which rarely happens on television.
The show premiered after The Closer's finale, with only a few casting changes, such as Kyra Sedgwick stepping down from her leading role.
What is the cast of Major Crimes doing now? Find out below!
Bonus: Corey Reynolds as David Gabriel from The Closer
Corey Reynolds is one of the few to appear in every episode of The Closer but not transfer to Major Crimes, mainly because his character David Gabriel got moved to the Da's office Bureau of Investigation as their liaison.

Russell Crowe will receive the Crystal Globe for outstanding artistic contribution to world cinema at the 57th Karlovy Vary Film Festival (June 30-July 8). The Oscar winning actor will also deploy his musical talent with his band Indoor Garden Party, which will perform at the festival’s opening night concert. The festival also revealed Friday that Johnny Depp would appear in its trailer, which will have its premiere at the opening ceremony.
Crowe, who was born in New Zealand but moved to Australia at an early age, began his acting career at the age of 6, working in TV and theater. In 1989, he started working in Australian films, with “The Crossing”, “Proof”, and “Romper Stomper”. He won two Australian Academy Awards: supporting actor for “Proof” and best actor for “Romper Stomper.”

Russell Crowe is one of the biggest movie stars of his generation, finding equal success in Oscar-nominated dramas and comic book blockbusters. But while he has always made a point of pursuing roles in a wide range of genres, the actor is still annoyed by what he sees as attempts by the Australian film industry to typecast him early in his career.
Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast to promote his role in “The Pope’s Exorcist,” Crowe recalled his early successes in Australia and the frustration he felt after only being offered heroic roles.
“I got to a point, I was only about seven lead roles in, and I had won a couple of those Australian Oscars,” Crowe said. “And a script arrived that gave me an opportunity to work with an actress who I really wanted to work with, so I did it. But then the next script arrived,...

Peter Werner, the Oscar-winning director known for his television work that spanned five decades and included helming episodes of such popular series as Moonlighting, A Different World, Justified and Law & Order: Svu, has died. He was 76.
Werner died Tuesday morning in Wilmington, North Carolina, his younger brother, Tom Werner (producer on The Cosby Show, Roseanne, That ’70s Show, The Conners), told The Hollywood Reporter. “He had a torn aorta that the doctors weren’t able to repair. So sudden,” he wrote in an email.
As a student project while attending the American Film Institute, Peter Werner directed the 1976 short film In the Region of Ice, which was based on Joyce Carol Oates’ short story and starred Fionnula Flanagan. The project won the Oscar for live-action short film.
His career kicked off from there, with Werner helming a 1977 episode of Family. The ABC drama counted Mike Nichols and Aaron Spelling as executive producers.

Proof of Innocence is a quest found in the town of Timberrain in Octopath Traveler 2. When players reach the location, it depends on which character they choose first, with each hero guided toward different cities and quests. However, only certain main characters have the means to finish this side quest.
Proof of Innocence uses Octopath Traveler 2’s two main game features: the day/night cycle and path actions. The former causes NPCs to react differently or be in alternate locations. The latter are specific character moves used in town to further interact with people and surroundings.
