American Pie is one of those cult classic movies that anyone who grew up in the 1990s has probably seen — many times. It was known for its humor and certainly catered to a more adult audience, but it was loaded with characters that nobody could ever forget.
While it’s been nearly 25 years since the movie was released, some of the actors have remained household names. Where is the American Pie cast today?
The ‘American Pie’ cast in 2012 | Kevin Winter/Getty Images Where is Jason Biggs today?
Jason Biggs was the film’s main star, and he went on to act in movies far beyond American Pie. There have been plenty of film sequels, and he starred in the first four movies, up until 2012. He appeared in films including Eight Below and My Best Friend’s Girl, the latter of which is where he met his now-wife, Jenny Mollen. Today, Biggs is worth about $20 million,...

Paul Walker enjoyed a lengthy career in Hollywood that carried him through various roles in several unique movies before his unfortunate death in 2013 at just 40 years old. Fans likely remember him best as Brian O'Conner in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, but the talented and handsome actor also appeared in critical hits such as "Pleasantville," "Joy Ride," and Clint Eastwood's "Flags of Our Fathers," and served as executive producer on the films "Vehicle 19," "Hours," and "Pawn Shop Chronicles." He even enjoyed a guest spot on National Geographic's "Expedition Great White" in 2009.
In his youth, Walker popped up in a variety of high-profile TV shows, among them "Highway to Heaven," "Charles in Charge," "Who's the Boss," and "Touched by an Angel," before making the leap to schlocky B-movie horror films such as "Tammy and the Rex," opposite Denise Richards, in which his character's brain somehow lands inside a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Vangelis, whose instantly recognizable musical theme for 1981’s Chariots of Fire won an Oscar and became a sort of aural shorthand for tales of endurance and triumph, died May 17, according to his representatives. He was 79.
His assistant Lefteris Zermas has confirmed the death but did not provide a specific cause, saying only that Vangelis died in a hospital in France. Greek newspaper Ot is reporting that Vangelis was being treated for Covid-19.
Born Evangelos Odessey Papathanassiou in Greece, the composer and musician known worldwide simply as Vangelis, combined orchestral music, electronic synth sounds, jazz and ambient to create a then-new sound for the film that seemed to provide the musical equivalent of the ocean waves that crashed as the story’s Olympic runners sprinted down the beach. (Watch the video below.)
Vangelis would go on to compose scores for Blade Runner (1982), Missing (1982), Antarctica (1983), The Bounty (1984), 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992) and...

When Briege Whitehead made VR documentary short The Antarctica Experience in 2018, she wanted more than for the film to be seen – the audience needed to be brought alongside her.
The result may be the next step in VR distribution, with the young Wa filmmaker developing a new concept for the space after her production company was included in the latest round of enterprise funding from Screen Australia.
Called Surround Sync, the venture allows for 7.1 surround sound in more than 200 headsets at any one time and can be scaled to suit different venue sizes.
Whitehead told If the distribution of The Antarctica Experience acted as a prototype for the idea, which had “taken on a life of its own” since.
“I wanted to make VR documentary that was really meaningful and impactful but I wasn’t really interested in making something only a handful of people would ever see,” she said.

CBS is one of the networks that believes in the traditional pilot season – Kelly Kahl is a noted fan of the process. But the Covid-19 pandemic forced it to pivot and hand out a handful of straight-to-series orders for the 2020-21 season including The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah, and Silence of the Lambs sequel Clarice.
As this year’s development season continues to be interrupted by the pandemic, the network is considering doing the same again.
Thom Sherman, Senior EVP Programming, CBS Entertainment, said Wednesday at CBS’ virtual press tour: “We learned a lot this past year: how to adapt and look at things differently and break the whole model. We might even order some projects straight to series like we did with The Equalizer and Clarice.”

Best friends who long ago accepted the rest of the world’s ridiculousness have their solidarity tested in Antarctica, Keith Bearden’s take on a teen-comedy model that always lives or dies by its stars’ chemistry. He finds that chemistry — albeit in a less high-wattage way than in, say, Booksmart — with the pairing of newcomer Kimie Muroya and Chloë Levine (The Oa). Together, the two bring out the humor in Bearden’s skewed take on contemporary American weirdness without seeming to work for it. The film’s pleasures peter out when the leads are apart for too long, though; and since ...

The Nacelle Company is teaming with Breaker’s Blockchain Entertainment Studio on the release of Antarctica, a romantic comedy written and directed by Keith Bearden. Starring Chloë Levine, Clea Lewis, Damian Young, and newcomer Kimmie Muroya, the pic will be released sometime later this year.
It’s a story of two life-long best friends that experience a tidal wave of adult pressures and problems as they face down their last year of high school in small-town USA. Will they crack under the societal pressures, or will they triumph over the metaphorical icy tundra they call their late teens?
The deal was negotiated by Anna Roberts of The Nacelle Company and Jake Craven of Breaker.

The Swedish film “Force Majeure” was a critically acclaimed darling but not exactly a box office hit. So there was an opportunity to take the film’s black humor and install the American charms of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell to see how it might fare commercially in “Downhill,” opening this weekend. But surprisingly, even box office hits abroad don’t always translate when remade with American actors, and the ones that do rarely resemble their original inspiration. Here are the highest-grossing American remakes of foreign films (all domestic box office figures via Box Office Mojo).

In a somewhat surprising development, Fifty Shades of Grey is proving to be even more of a phenomenon internationally than it is in the U.S.
The movie earned a stunning $158 million from 58 markets this weekend. That's the second-biggest weekend ever for Universal Pictures International (behind Fast & Furious 6), and included their biggest single day ever (Valentine's Day at $55.1 million).
The movie set opening weekend records in 11 markets, including Italy ($9.1 million), Argentina and Poland. It also set a record for Universal Pictures in the U.K. ($21.1 million), France ($12 million), Russia ($10.5 million) and Brazil ($8.9 million). Other key markets include Germany ($15.2 million), Australia ($8.6 million), Mexico ($8.1 million) and Spain ($7.9 million).
The movie has a few more markets left to open, including South Korea later this month. It will be interesting to see how it holds up in the coming weeks; even if it drops like a rock, though, it should still wind up well over $300 million.

Frank Marshall is best known as a producer, having served as such on such beloved films as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Gremlins, The Goonies and Back to the Future. Though he's helmed a number of feature films, he is far less distinguished as a director. That's because he's responsible for Arachnophobia, Alive, Congo and most recently the 2011 sled-dog adventure Eight Below. But the lack of prestige pics hasn't deterred Paramount Pictures from picking Marshall to helm their upcoming shipwreck drama The Longest Night. THR reports Marshall has signed on to helm The Longest Night and will be working with a screenplay penned by Jonathan Lemkin, the screenwriter behind The Devil's Advocate and the Mark Wahlberg-fronted crime-drama Shooter. The new drama will be based on a 2008 GQ article by Sean Flynn. Here's the first paragraph of the piece that inspired the film: "One Easter Sunday, the Alaska...

Though Frank Marshall usually wears the producer hat, with credits that range from the Bourne films to Indiana Jones, he does step behind the camera every so often. Granted, with credits like Eight Below and Congo under his belt, he’s definitely had better luck when someone else is at the helm. Despite this, Marshall is intent on trying his hand at directing once more and this time, THR reports that he’s chosen to adapt Sean Flynn’s 2008 GQ article, The Longest Night.

Right now producer Frank Marshall has his hands full with Jurassic World, the latest sequel (which also seems to be sort of a reboot) in the Jurassic Park franchise launched by Steven Spielberg in 1993. Marshall has produced some of the biggest franchises of all time like Back to the Future and Raiders of the Lost Ark, and now he's looking to get back behind the camera as a director. The last time Marshall directed a film, it was Disney's Antarctic adventure Eight Below with the late Paul Walker in 2006, and before that, Congo in 1995. Now THR reports Marshall will direct a shipwreck drama called The Longest Night at Paramount. Though he’s more usually found working as one of the best-known producers in the film industry, Frank Marshall has occasionally stepped behind the camera to make his own projects, directing the likes of Eight Below, Arachnaphobia and Alive. He’ll channel the spirit of that real-life latter outing for a new project, shipwreck tale The Longest Night.Paramount has bought the rights to Sean Flynn’s 2008 GQ article, which chronicles a Coast Guard rescue operation that braved seemingly impossible odds. An Alaskan trawler sank on Easter Sunday of that year, pitching its 47-strong crew into frigid waters 6,000 feet deep and more than 180 miles from the shore. With 15-foot swells hampering their job, the Coast Guard team still managed to rescue 42 of the souls on the stricken boat.Jonathan Lemkin, who has written such films as Lethal Weapon 4 and Shooter, adapted the script, which Marshall will shoot assuming he...

With its strong date night appeal, About Last Night opened strong on Valentine's Day and wound up ahead of fellow 80s remakes RoboCop and Endless Love this weekend. Still, it was no match for The Lego Movie, which easily led the box office over President's Day weekend. In its second outing, The Lego Movie added $49.8 million. That's a very light 28 percent drop, which is way ahead of most comparable titles (for example, The Lorax fell 45 percent in its second weekend). For the four-day frame, Lego earned $62.5 million, which ranks second all-time for President's Day weekend. So far, Lego has earned $142.8 million, and remains on track to easily surpass $200 million.Playing at 2,253 locations, the About Last Night remake opened to $25.6 million. That's the best opening for a romantic comedy since 2012's Think Like a Man ($33.6 million), which also featured Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy and Regina Hall. It is noticeably lower than...

He spent plenty of time with Paul Walker while filming “Eight Below” in 2006, so when Jason Biggs saw tip jars with the late actor’s movies on them at his local Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, he was a bit upset.
The “American Pie” star snapped a photo of the two receptacles, labeled “Varsity Blues” and “Fast and Furious,” and tweeted the shot along with the caption, “Umm, am I crazy, or does this seem [exploitative] and in poor taste?”
Right away, a spokesperson for the Coffee Bean issued a statement via Gossip Cop, apologizing for the insensitive lack of judgment.
“This is completely inconsistent with our brand values and the jars have since been removed. Our thoughts and condolences remain with the many friends and family of Paul Walker during this difficult time. Paul Walker movies: Few worthwhile efforts away from the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise (photo: Paul Walker in ‘Hours’) (See previous post: “Paul Walker Dead: Fast and Furious Actor Killed in Fiery Car Crash.”) Aside from the Fast and Furious franchise, Paul Walker was featured in about 15 movies since the turn of the century; most of those were little-seen releases that did nothing to expand his following beyond fans of slick, high-speed shenanigans, e.g., John Glenn’s thriller and straight-to-dvd release The Lazarus Project (2008), co-starring Piper Perabo; Wayne Kramer’s box office bomb Running Scared, with Vera Farmiga; John Stockwell’s mix of deep-sea adventure and crime thriller Into the Blue, with Jessica Alba and Josh Brolin; and another straight-to-dvd effort, Mukunda Michael Dewil’s poorly received thriller Vehicle 19 (2013). Recently, we learned that Joseph Kosinski was on board to helm a sequel to Tron: Legacy, the beautiful-if-stilted sequel to fan favorite Tron. The sequel’s script was devised by David Digilio (Eight Below), Edward Kitsis (Tron: Legacy, Once Upon A Time, Felicity, Lost, Birds Of Prey), and Adam Horowitz (the same, and Popular) and is being rewritten by Jesse Wigutow.
Now we’ve learned that Sam Flynn is back, with star Garrett Hedlund returning to the fold as the son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges). We don’t know much beyond who’s involved, but the Disney film reportedly will explore life and death in the digital realm. I can’t wait for the visuals (and hopefully less wooden acting), for sure.

First, I just want to say I am excited to be back ( I know all of you have missed me this last month). What do I bring for you today??? Terrific News!!! With the success of “Tron: Legacy”, Disney has proceeded with sequel and hired a new writer, replacing previous writer David Digilio (“Eight Below”). Reception to “Tron Legacy” was moderate and left some people cold and other people ecstatic, I am one of the latter. The original “Tron” was one of the first live-action films I saw as a child and holds a special place in my heart. When the sequel arrived 28 years later, it was visually and emotionally exciting, and added so much more to the mythos than any fanfiction ever could. Now it looks like Disney is moving foward after a slow start (It has been 2 years since “Tron: Legacy” opened). New Disney head Alan Horn has...

Most recently, Eight Below writer David Digilio was hired to turn his "Paul Walker in a frozen wasteland" story-crafting skills toward putting another action sort-of-star adrift in a cold and ...
