- TriviaThadeus A. Thomas was a real Yellow Pages salesman who wandered onto the set one day and tried to sell the cast and crew ad space. Gus Van Sant was so intrigued by him he asked him to appear in the film.
- GoofsOne of the LDS missionaries that visits the house is wearing a light blue shirt. LDS missionaries are only permitted to wear non-decorative white shirts with dark pants/suits, and a conservative tie. The missionaries also carried no pamphlets, visual aids, appointment books, or their own complete sets of scriptures, which is highly unlikely for door-to-door proselytizing.

This movie is terrible.its way too pretentious everything the director tries to do is misplaced and does not work at all he focuses on the cinematography way too much and does not seem to care at all about the movie as a whole.Movies in my opinion are a sum of their parts score actors style script.this director has focused on shots and thrown everything else away. Some more time should of been spent on the story as it goes nowhere at all.I know its supposed to be about Kurt Cobain but the movie is so hollow than you cannot feel for the characters at all.The scenes in the car where the shot is taken from outside the car are utter crap other directors do not use it because it does not work it takes focus off the actors and furthers are disengagement from them. This is truly one of the worst movies i have seen.I cannot believe it got good reviews especially from the guardian shame on you.Forgive my rant but i cannot believe this movie was released. Kurt Cobain was a man who changed music forever and i feel warrants a movie about his life that mirrors the creativity and genius of him instead this movie is boring bland and comes nowhere near having the right to be connected with a musician like Kurt Cobain
