Actors were aware of the nudity requirements when they auditioned for certain roles. In order to avoid any awkward moments, casting sessions initially did not require that the actors disrobe. However, when it came time to film one particular intimate scene, the crew was shocked when the actor disrobed to reveal that he wasn't particularly well-endowed--so much so that it was difficult to even see his anatomy on camera. Someone else on the crew who met the "requirements" for the part volunteered to step in at the last minute. Going forward, actors auditioning for parts that required nudity were asked to take a full-frontal naked photo on their cellphone and show it to the casting directors during their auditions.
The male actors are covered in castor oil in their shirtless scenes.
According to Stephen Amell, filming was initially troublesome,"because we had a terrible director. They fired him. They brought on a really great guy. Then the following year they wanted to take the Adam character...he obviously was not straight any more. Then I booked [the movie] Closing the Ring (2007), and I put in that I couldn't do it. So they cast Jon Fleming. I'm still friends with Charlie David".
Production of a fourth season was halted after its "funding dried up for a variety of reasons beyond our control", according to director Sam Irvin. Two ideas were proposed for a fourth season: a continuation featuring new characters as led by Tracy Scoggins' Grace; and another one which continued the story from right where it stopped. According to Irvin, Here TV still "tried a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds from fans but it didn't reach its goal".
