What motion picture could possibly be so epic it would require the combined directorial talents of the director of Hellbound: Hellraiser II and the director of Chopping Mall? Would you believe a remake of the 1959 bad movie classic The Giant Gila Monster?
If you’re going to remake a movie, you might as well remake a bad one, and The Giant Gila Monster is most definitely a bad movie. Sure, the ultra low budget 1959 drive-in creature feature that used footage of a real live gila monster as its greatest special effect has marked its place as a classic b-movie; let’s just not kid ourselves about it actually being a good movie.
So can a low budget remake of The Giant Gila Monster actually make a good movie out of hallmark of bad cinema? It certainly can’t tarnish its legacy.

Leslie Bibb and Jason Sudeikis keep their clothes on--for now--in A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.
A group of party-loving thirty-somethings decide to throw one last — and lust-fueled — party before the end of the summer in the comedy movie A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.
And that’s pretty much the whole story of the 2011 film, which stars Jason Sudeikis (Hall Pass) as the “host” who regularly mounts lavish summer theme parties at his father’s swanky Hamptons pad. It’s only when Sudeikis’ dad (Don Johnson, TV’s Miami Vice) announces he plans to sell the beach house that his son decides it’s time for one final bash that will end the summer with a proverbial bang!! If only he knew earlier on that convincing his friends to join in on the festivities would be more than a little difficult…...

Burbank - Traci Lords was the biggest name in showbiz in 1986, but for all the wrong reasons. She had become a major star in the adult industry. Her run started as Penthouse Pet of the month for the issue that exposed Vanessa Williams in September of 1984. Dozens of video titles appeared as she became the it girl noted for her youthful looks.
There was a reason for her looking so young: she’d used fake IDs to appear 20. She was under 18 in dozens of her adult films. Only one was made after she turned 18. The FBI and other police agencies poured over the valley investigating everyone connected to the industry. In the midst of this ugliness, Traci Lords still dreamed of being an actress. Luckily she found entry into the profession through the gates of Roger Corman’s studio.
She was signed to remake Not of This Earth with Jim Wynorski directing.

I sat down yesterday and attempted to review one of these awesomely crapulent monster face-off flicks (thanks unknowingly to Darthcorleone), and 20 minutes into the experience, I wiped off the blood leaking from my nose and came to this realization: Crapulent Monster Face Off movies aren't meant to be watched in their entirety. Not unless you enjoy brain damage or have absolutely no appreciation for how little time on Earth we have. Or you're Tk who gets some sick fucking pleasure out of these movies. The rest of us: We watch them for the euphoric thrill of the swallow. There's hardly anything more satisfying than the sight of a giant lizard-like cartoon creature, which looks like it was created using the processing power behind the Colecovision, swallow a tenth-rate actress who dared show too much cleavage.
The truth is, however, that for most of these movies, the kill shots and the...

This past weekend saw the premiere of the Roger Corman-produced Dinoshark (review here) on Syfy. Today we get the trailer for another future Syfy flick pitting two previous Roger Corman reptilian behemoths in mortal combat. Feast your eyes upon the stupendous chomp-filled trailer for Jim Wynorski's Dinocroc vs. Supergator.
What's Dinocroc vs. Supergator about, you ask? What's the title, I reply. Something tells me it doesn't get too much deeper than that. The epic showdown also boasts one of the final screen appearances of the late David Carradine.
I just hope the trailer hasn't given away every death scene in the movie. Here's also hoping this Wynorksi monster reptile vs. monster reptile flick proves better than the nigh-abysmal Komodo vs. Cobra.
