A Fool for a Client

Franklyn Malleson Ghent was a renowned lawyer and a well respected judge. A man Abraham Lincoln Jones admired, he even attended some of Ghent's lectures.

Now Ghent's daughter Emily Barron and son in law Howard Barron want the retired judge institutionalised for alcoholism. His affairs laced into a guardianship.

Jones is reluctant and when he goes to see Ghent, he is articulate and sober. He claims that his daughter is after his property.

Later on Jones goes to see Ghent again, this time he is drunk and admits he has no property to his name.

At a court hearing, Ghent defends himself and displays many wily tricks. Then Jones calls him as a witness. Can Jones get Ghent to crack?

An interesting and thoughtful episode. Although Ghent's cross examination made for good drama but not very realistic. Jones tried to gaud Ghent into drinking.
