This is the first episode to show Cartman without his hat, making him the first out of four of the boys to have his hair shown. Kenny is the second one as he is later seen without his parka in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) and Stan and Kyle are first shown without their hats in How to Eat with Your Butt (2001).

Goofs
Manson's smiley face tattoo briefly changes into an alien head while in the car. Given the show's creators' propensity for hiding aliens in the backgrounds of various scenes, this is almost certainly an intentional joke.

Hilarious! Another great Christmas episode!

Merry Christmas Charlie Manson is the season 2 Christmas episode of South Park.In my opinion, this one was a bit better than the previous Christmas episode.This one is simply hilarious! Cartman & friends go with his mom to Nebraska to see Cartman's family.Stan's parents didn't want him to go but he sneaks out anyway and is angry with his parents and claims that they are dead! Cartman's family members share some of the same characteristics as Cartman.They are all fat and yell at their animals when the animals ask for food.Meanwhile, Cartman's uncle escapes prison with his cellmate Charlie Manson.The boys find that Mr Hankey(who is now famous) is appearing at the mall so the boys go see him, they then realize that he is a fake mr hankey and start a riot.The cops eventually find Manson and follow him back to the Cartman house where a standoff ensues.In the midst of all the chaos, Manson finds the true meaning of Christmas! This is a very good episode and has some hilarious moments!
