The score for When the Levees Broke was re-used in the 2018 Spike Lee Joint BlackKklansman.
Unlike most of Spike Lee's films, this does not feature his customary titling "A Spike Lee Joint."
The film re-uses some of the music from previous Spike Lee/Terrence Blanchard collaboration Inside Man. Including the tracks 'Press Here To Play' and 'Nazis Pay Too Well'.
Phyllis Montana LeBlanc had a role in HBO's Tremé, a drama about the city of New Orleans post-Katrina particularly focusing on Tremé and other cultural areas. She was suggested for the role by Spike Lee. She has also wrote a book about her experiences with the storm and aftermath.
