Derek (Keith Barron) is young laddish vet who has advertised for a flatmate. He ends up with kooky Leonora (Rita Tushingham) down from Liverpool.
However Derek was looking for a male, someone who will be a lad about town just like him.
Leonara is just too quirky and she carries a big beanbag around with her. Derek is a little bit uptight, he listens to classical music but has a taste for women and football.
This Comedy Playhouse from Carla Lane did lead to a series. However it only lasted for one short series.
Barron would show that he the chops for sitcom. Tushingham does well at being unorthodox. She should had fitted well at the shared female flat she visited.
I just did not see much chemistry between both actors. Of course they are meant to be a mismatched couple who would eventually get close.
Maybe that is why the series failed to take off.
