Given Tarantino’s movies, the filmmaker’s taste in cinema might surprise some fans. The filmmaker once revealed years ago that some of his guilty pleasures were rom-coms. Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he confided that one rom-com in particular left a lasting impression on him. Summer is heating up on Max.

Back in May, Max added programming from TLC, HGTV and Food Network. That means Discovery’s popular Shark Week will be available to stream when it kicks off on July 23, with programming to be announced soon.

Prime Video has adapted the one-woman podcast “Empanada Loca” into a new series. “The Horror of Dolores Roach” will begin streaming on the service on July 7. Buckle up, because this one is gruesome. Roach (Justina Machado) returns to a gentrified Washington Heights after a long prison sentence and works as a masseuse in the basement of a friend’s empanada shop. But when her security is threatened, Roach is driven to extremes to survive.

Season 2 of “Good Omens” also will premiere on Prime Video in July. Arriving July 28, the series focuses on the friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare-book dealer, and the snarky demon Crowley (David Tennant). While the Apocalypse has been averted, the pair are back living their lives in London, until the archangel Gabriel shows up. The series is based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

We all have Oscar wins that we love, where the Academy decides to step out of line with convention and give it to someone doing truly exceptional work. Olivia Colman taking home Best Actress for "The Favourite" is a recent example I still cannot believe happened. We also have the awards we despise, where we cannot even fathom how the stars aligned to push something we consider to be truly terrible to the winners' circle, like "Crash" winning Best Picture.

Matthew McConaughey was a king of the romantic-comedy genre in the early 2000s, and it turns out it’s all thanks to a fortune teller. The Oscar winner already had one rom-com hit under his belt with 2001’s “The Wedding Planner” when the offer to star opposite Kate Hudson in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” came along. Did McConaughey really want to dive right into another rom-com?

July sweeps featured Days saying farewell to Ben and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) as they set off to sail around the world Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) style.

Two weeks later, Robert was back on the hit NBC soap opera, playing Justin’s (Wally Kurth) son Alexander. It was a quick transition.

Robert recently revealed to Soap Opera Digest podcast that the new role came about to keep him around. The actor wasn’t ready to leave the show either, especially after he was offered to play Alexander.

To make Alexander different from Ben, Robert has been trying different hairstyles, clothes, and glasses to create a new look.

Doing “bad stuff” and acting “depraved” on screen is thrilling for Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey. He says that playing characters that are evil or up to no-good is exhilarating for him.

The 52-year-old actor starred as deceiver and sorcerer Walter Padick in 2017 science fantasy Western ‘The Dark Tower’ while he also played the titular murderer in 2011’s ‘Killer Joe’, reports aceshowbiz.com.

However, he believes such roles are only good for actors who are “calm” in their own lives.

McConaughey is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying, “Being bad is the best. It just is.”

The return of fan-favorite shows, auteurs tackling new original series, new documentaries and more headline what’s new on HBO Max in April 2022.

Top of the list is the HBO Max original series “The Flight Attendant,” which returns for its second season on April 21. Then there’s the long-awaited return of Bill Hader’s “Barry” on April 24 on HBO and HBO Max, as well as Season 3 of “The Black Lady Sketch Show” on April 8.

In terms of new originals, “The Wire” and “The Deuce” creator David Simon is back with the new series “We Own This City” on April 25, which chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force. April is about to be a good month for returning HBO and HBO Max properties.

HBO Max’s list of releases for April 2022 features three hotly anticipated seasons of television. The Flight Attendant, which helped launch HBO Max as a viable spot for good dramedy in 2020, premieres its second season on April 21. That will be followed by another go-around for the sci-fi comedy Made for Love on April 28. Of course, the big ticket item this month is something that HBO Max inherited from its cable cousin. Barry season 3 will continue the story of hitman-turned-actor Barry Berkman (Bill Hader) on April 24.

The TV offerings run much deeper than just returning shows this month. April 7 sees the arrival of Tokyo Vice, a sprawling crime drama with some episodes directed by Michael Mann. The series stars Ansel Elgort as an American journalist embedding himself in Tokyo’s criminal underground in the late ’90s.

With a new month upon us, that means Netflix is saying farewell to some favorite films in their library for the time being. And this month, there’s an unusual amount of good movies leaving Netflix. If you’re wondering what to watch before it’s gone, we’ve got a handy guide.

Netflix is ringing in the new year in atypical fashion. Throughout 2021, the streaming giant’s original offerings swelled while its library titles shrunk. With its list of new releases for January 2022, however, Netflix is expanding its non-original market quite a bit.

Jan. 1 sees the arrival of a truly stunning amount of impressive non-Netflix movies and TV shows. The big titles available on the first of the month include: 300, Interview with the Vampire, Paranormal Activity, Superman Returns, Terminator 2, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and much more. Later on in the month, Netflix is also set to add Phantom Thread (Jan. 16) to its roster.

Though Netflix is lighter on original content in January 2022, there is still plenty of intriguing titles to check out.

Netflix will start 2022 with a number of series and film debuts, including the first part of the final season of “Ozark” and “Home Team,” a comedy about NFL coach Sean Payton starring Kevin James. But beyond its originals, Netflix will welcome a number of major library titles, among them “Phantom Thread” from Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Picture winner “Braveheart,” Ben Affleck’s blockbuster hit “The Town,” Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver,” David Fincher’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” and Joel and Ethan Coen’s “True Grit.”

Actor Matthew McConaughey has recalled that no one was willing to cast him in Hollywood after he rejected romantic comedies.

McConaughey made a name for himself in Hollywood through romantic films such as "The Wedding Planner", "Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past" and "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days".

However, in order to move away from the generic image, he once even turned down a $14.5 million offer for a rom-com.
