The games industry has been hit with more developer closures, and much like what happened with Visceral Games back in 2017, this one hits horror fans. Per Bloomberg, Warner Bros. Games has reportedly shuttered Player First Games (the devs behind MultiVersus), WB San Diego, and F.E.A.R. and Condemned: Criminal Origins developer Monolith Productions.

The first video games based on James Gunn's and Peter Safran's DC Universe are still years away from being revealed, but the co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studios have revealed they are actively working with the various WB Games teams.

Speaking at a DC Studios presentation, the duo explained that they are working closely with the WB Games division, assisting studios like Mortal Kombat creator NetherRealm and Batman: Arkham developer Rocksteady on character design and story.

“We work incredibly closely with Jb Perrette [CEO and President, Global Streaming and Games], who runs that division, and it's really the first time it's ever been this way at Warner Brothers,” Safran explained. “James and I sit with literally the guys that run the studios underneath Jb, whether it's NetherRealm or whether it's Rocksteady, sit with them and talk about characters and stories that we're interested in and that they're interested in.”

She is credited with reviving the property by launching the sequel trilogy, beginning with 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” as well as the critically acclaimed 2016 spinoff “Rogue One.” Kennedy has also charted a future for the franchise on streaming with television series such as “The Mandalorian” and “Andor.”

However, her future with the company behind “Star Wars” has been a source of speculation over the years.

Season 3 of The Wheel of Time is set to premiere on Prime Video in just a few weeks, on Thursday, March 13. This season could be a turning point for the show and the fantasy genre in general.

As first reported by Puck (via SFFGazette.com), the Lucasfilm President has told associates that she intends to retire by the end of 2025. There's definitely something to this as the story has been picked up by the Hollywood trades (this story also carries more weight than the wishful thinking often shared by YouTubers). 

If Kennedy does plan on stepping down, then she's unlikely to be missed by the majority of Star Wars fans. 

She joined Lucasfilm as co-chair alongside Star Wars creator George Lucas in 2012 and later took over following his exit when Disney acquired the company for $4 billion.

Initially, Kennedy found great success in the role. Star Wars: The Force Awakens was a box office hit that grossed $2 billion worldwide.

Vidaamuyarchi is set for its Ott release next month, and Arav, one of the film’s antagonists, recently shared a traumatic experience he and the film’s protagonist, Ajith Kumar, had during a car accident on set. He recounted the incident in an interview with CNN-News18.

During the shoot, both Arav and Ajith Kumar were inside a Hummer for a scene. Arav asked if the car might topple, to which Ajith Kumar laughed and reassured him that it wouldn’t happen—at least not yet. However, in the very next shot, as if the car had heard their conversation, it went out of control and overturned.

Vidaamuyarchi marks Ajith Kumar’s 62nd film, though it wasn’t originally planned as such. Initially, a project with director Vignesh Shivan was supposed to be his 62nd film, but after it didn’t materialize, Vidaamuyarchi was developed with a new script. The film was officially announced in May 2023.

A big-budget venture, Vidaamuyarchi was primarily shot in Azerbaijan, with some portions filmed in Thailand. The story is inspired by the 1997 Hollywood film Breakdown.

It's very much just a teaser image but one that was perhaps needed after set photos featured He-Man looking a little too normal for many fans. Showcasing He-Men decked out in normal clothes following an altercation with the police, it seemed the idea was to show the hero was blending in with his new surroundings on Earth.

That total comes from a combination of Nielsen’s measurement of linear viewers on HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s own measurement of streams on Max. Wbd also reports that the Season 3 premiere has surpassed 10.2 million viewers in the week since its release, rising from its 2.4 million same-day viewers. Today, Amazon MGM Studios unveiled a close-up image of Galintzine as He-Man with the hero’s iconic Power Sword in hand. Though slightly dark, the picture shows the powerful weapon that helps Prince Adam transform into the all-powerful warrior of Eternia, He-Man, and the blade looks incredible. You can also glimpse Galintzine’s chiseled physique and He-Man’s vembraces tightly secured to his forearms. It’s funny. The photo leaves much to the imagination, but I’ll be damned if I’m not getting good vibes. The Power Sword looks legit Af, and Galintzine’s gym routine has treated him well.

Being the creator of one of the most iconic shows out there is not an easy feat.

For a while now, we've been previewing a new Game of Thrones video game called Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. It takes place during the fourth season of the show and casts players in the role of the heir to House Tyre, a small house in the North. They will battle enemies, wheel and deal with familiar characters from the series, and explore the open world that is the Seven Kingdoms. And that's just in the story-driven single-player mode. There's also a multiplayer mode where you can play with friends and go up against ice spiders big as hounds, and other beasties.

The game looks like the most full-featured Game of Thrones video game yet produced. The only thing that gives us pause is that it's coming out for mobile devices (and PC), which carry a bit of a stigma for being simple and full of microtranactions. But the game itself looks really solid.

What we could take from this chapter is how Euron became more menacing than before, and leagues more terrifying than his television counterpart. It’s an understatement to say that the Game of Thrones version was extremely disappointing. He was promising at the beginning of the series, but throughout the course of the story, he ended up becoming the unexpected comic relief.
