The only thing scary was how bored I was. It was like it was trying to be scary, artsy, and everything else all at once and it positively crashed and burned. Full disclosure after sitting through 50 minutes I fast forwarded to the end. You can tell the main actress really tried but the poor writing and direction of the whole film really tore it all down. Normally you can laugh at B-rated horror movies but it was so dull you couldn't even do that. The filming styles also constantly changed same with the voices somehow. Some points absolutely made no sense as to why they were in the film in the first place. Just...save yourself the time and pass on it.
It's been over an hour, and nothing has happened. I had to speed it up to 2x. The pacing is unbearably slow, making it hard to stay engaged. The screen is constantly filled with abstract, artsy blocks of text that seem designed to add depth but don't actually contribute to the story. There's no suspense, no scares, and nothing that would make this feel like a true horror movie. Instead, it comes across as dull and pretentious, trying too hard to be artistic while forgetting to entertain. I wouldn't call this horror at all, and it's definitely not worth the time. I'd suggest skipping it since it's too boring.

Of course I had never heard about this 2024 horror movie titled "Amityville: Where the Echo Lives" prior to sitting down and watching it. And truth be told, I harbored zero expectations to director Carlos Ayala, as the majority of movies with the word 'Amityville' in the title is pure rubbish.
And true to formula, then "Amityville: Where the Echo Lives" was a lousy horror experience. The narrative in the movie moves forward with absolutely no momentum. In fact, it is slow paced that it feels as if it was actually going in reverse. And whatever script that had been churned out for director Carlos Ayala to bring to the screen hed zero interesting contents. There was nothing scary to be seen anywhere in the movie, well, not unless you consider a monotonous narrative and shallow script as scary.
Of course I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in this low budget attempt of a horror movie. And while I usually do enjoy watching unfamiliar talents and faces on the screen, it just wasn't the cast with this movie, because the script was ridiculous and the acting performances were wooden, rigid and devoid of emotions.
Do yourself a favor and give "Amityville: Where the Echo Lives" a wide berth. It just simply isn't worth squandering 89 minutes on watching. Some of us suffered through this dung heap, so you don't have to; you're quite welcome.
My rating of director Carlos Ayala's 2024 horror movie "Amityville: Where the Echo Lives" lands on a generous two out of ten stars. I would have rated it a mere one star, but at least the production value of the movie was good enough to drag it up to a meager two out of ten stars.

This is probably the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life. It has some seriously bad acting, no real chemistry between the actors, also seems like the audio is dubbed. This movie is what you would expect from school students. It's basically 40 minutes and 5 seconds of my life I will never get back, because literally that is all I could take of rhis movie. Don't waste your time on this trash. Nothing good actually happens in it. Get way more entertainment watching paint dry.
Garbage, Garbage, Garbage, totally and utterly garbage, oh, did I mention totally Garbage?
Unskilled director, Unskilled actors, SERIOUSLY I'M NOT LYING, THERE IS A LINE IN THE MOVIE, "NOTHING IS REALLY HAPPENING"
YOU DON'T SAY! NOTHING AT ALL IS HAPPENING IN THIS MOVIE.

This movie is super below my expectation! This is NOT the same Amityville movies I always get to watch.
The actress has been going round and around the whole hour in the haunted room, and nothings happening. And it's even just a paranormal practitioner who does not have any proven experience yet. She doesn't know what to do. They should also choose an actress who can even be artistic on acting. I have to delay watching 3x just to finish it, waiting and hoping as if something will happen exciting very soon.
It's horror movie, everyone should feel thrilled but nah, it's Suupper booooooring!!..

The only reference to Amityville is in the title.
Terrible script, questionable acting, really no explanation of most of the scenes.
Clips from old scary movies, the City, a Teapot boiling, etc, etc.
Lots of nothingness paired with odd shots of senseless, unrelated things that I'm sure mean something to someone but it's not us, the viewers.
Perhaps a good entrance for Drama or another form of Actiing for Students, Camera and/or Sound Techs but this is not a Movie that should have been put up for Pay per View. I'm contemplating asking not only a refund, but compensation for the time spent watching.
Again, great attempt for beginners, Students and such but this should not have been presented as a Horror PPV.
