Last year, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk (which was, like The Running Man and Thinner, published under the pen name Richard Bachman) went into production, with director Francis Lawrence, whose previous credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2, Red Sparrow, Slumberland, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, at the helm. Now, Lawrence has confirmed to the folks at Collider that post-production work on the film is almost complete, and he’s “super happy” with it.
An adaptation of The Long Walk has been trudging through development hell for decades. At one point, the rights were in the hands of Frank Darabont, who made the King adaptations The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. The Long Walk has been one of Stephen King’s novels that has been tough to bring to the screen. It looks like that’s about to change, though. Francis Lawrence, the director of I Am Legend, is behind the upcoming film adaptation, which is currently in post-production.
Lawrence is also working on the film’s score in London. He’s expressed excitement about how the film is coming together, calling it “really unique.”
Lawrence has been a fan of The Long Walk for years and even tried to make it happen a while ago. After finishing I Am Legend, he wanted to adapt the novel, but Frank Darabont ended up securing the rights.
Despite various attempts over the years, no one had been able to make it work—until now. Lawrence teamed up with writer Jt Mollner, who worked on Strange Darling, and they quickly came up with a draft that worked.

Lionsgate has released its third quarter financial results after the spinoff of the media giant’s studio business into a separately traded stock.
The studio, led by CEO Jon Feltheimer, posted a sharply narrowed net loss attributable to shareholders at $21.9 million, compared to a year-earlier loss at $107.4 million when Lionsgate at the time reported on the impact of the earlier Hollywood writers and actors strikes on its content production and release pipeline.
During the latest quarter to Dec. 31, 2024, overall revenue fell to $970.5 million, against $975.1 million in the same period of last year. That blew past an analyst estimate for $922 million in overall third quarter revenues by $48 million.
Lionsgate posted an adjusted earnings per-share at 28 cents, which surpassed the analyst estimate by 21 cents. And the studio’s adjusted Oibda came to $144.2 million, against a year-earlier $151 million, which well exceeded the Wall Street estimate for $104 million in adjusted Oibda.

Over the last 15 years, director André Øvredal has brought us the likes of Troll Hunter, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Mortal, and The Last Voyage of the Demeter. He missed out on the Stephen King / Richard Bachman adaptation The Long Walk and has said that not making that movie is one of the big regrets of his life… but he’s not letting that missed opportunity slow him down. Deadline reports that Øvredal is teaming up with Paramount and Walter Hamada’s 18hz on a new horror project – and while we don’t know the title yet, we do know that the the film’s cast includes Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys: Ride or Die), and Lou Llobell (Foundation)!

During a recent appearance on The Kingcast, Stephen King praised Mike Flanagan‘s take on his magnum opus, The Dark Tower.
“I’ve seen screenplays and pitches, and he starts where he should start,” the author says. “The beats are perfect. They’re just perfect.”
King lovingly refers to Flanagan — who previously adapted Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep, and the forthcoming The Life of Chuck — as “the King whisperer.” The filmmaker revealed in late 2022 that his Intrepid Pictures acquired the rights The Dark Tower.
Tangentially related to the Dark Tower saga, King is currently working on a third Talisman novel. He expressed his excitement to return to the parallel world he created with the late Peter Straub.
“I’ve been channeling [Straub] like a motherfucker while working on Talisman 3. I find myself using his verbs. People don’t necessarily walk into a room. They bustle into a room, because that’s a very Straub-ian word.

Stephen King has written about 65 books at this point, and by the time you finish reading this article, it'll probably be 66. Not all of them are winners, but he's batting at such a high average that it's hard to complain. The only problem is that it's a little intimidating for first-time readers to decide where to start with him. Do you go in chronological order, or should you go by whichever book's premise catches your eye the most? And what if your goal is to get as good an idea of King's whole schtick in as little time as possible? If you could only read five books to try to get the widest understanding of Stephen King, what should you pick?
That's a tough question, given King's stories hold a wide range of lengths, tones, and genres, but I'll be answering it anyway. Here's my curated list of five introductory Stephen King books,...

Exclusive: Ruben Fleischer has just turned in a director’s cut to the Lionsgate threequel Now You See Me 3, and the studio is already looking to get back in business with him again. Word is that the $1.63 billion-grossing filmmaker is in talks to helm its The Sun Always Sets in the West.
The logline at this time is under wraps. The project will be produced by Norman Aladjem, Ray Moheet and Tim Honigman for Mainstay Entertainment. Scott Barkan & Gregg Zehentner wrote the screenplay.
Fleischer is the director of Venom, which minted $856 million around the world for Sony. He also helmed Sony’s cult Zombieland franchise movies with Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone that count $225M at the global box office, as well as the feature take of the Sony PlayStation game Uncharted that grossed $407M worldwide.

Stephen King has an upcoming book hitting shelves in 2025, Never Flinch, and it will hopefully embrace the balance he found in the best story that includes Holly Gibney. The author has had a busy few months. King's new book Never Flinch was announced in November, right on the heels of the anthology The End of the World As We Know It, set in the world of The Stand. Never Flinch is the next book after 2024's excellent You Like It Darker, a collection of short stories, showing King isn't slowing down any time soon.
Multiple TV and movie adaptations of King's projects are currently in the works, as well, including Mike Flanagan's The Life of Chuck and his Dark Tower TV adaptation, Oz Perkins' The Monkey, The Institute TV adaptation, Francis Lawrence's The Long Walk, and Edgar Wright's The Running Man. Clearly, there's no shortage of Stephen King content.

2024 was a big year for Stephen King, with new books, big plans announced for 2025, anniversaries, more adaptations of his works, and a lot more. The King of Horror has been terrorizing generations of readers for decades, with over sixty books and hundreds of short stories, either exploring fears in supernatural ways or in more grounded, realistic ways. King’s reign in the world of horror started in 1974 with the publishing of Carrie, though it wasn’t the first novel he wrote – that honor belongs to The Long Walk, published until 1979.
Since Carrie, King has been unstoppable and consistently publishing novels and collections with short stories, of which many have been adapted to TV and film, sometimes more than once. 2024 was no exception, and fans of the King of Horror were treated to not only new short stories and novels by King but also big news about some of the many upcoming adaptations of his works.

Horror legend Stephen King has written a fair few books over the years. Ever since he burst on the scene with "Carrie" in 1974, he's given fans at least one book nearly every year. Since most of his work has been extremely popular, he's also established himself as a bit of an authority on the horror front -- and isn't shy about commenting about either the genre or his craft as a writer.
Thanks to King's status as a horror luminary and extensive work in many other genres, we've analyzed his work many times before. You may have seen us discuss why King's endings have a reputation for being disappointing, look into his biggest career regret involving (of all things) a forgotten TV commercial, and examine the one Stephen King book that will never get a film adaption due to the author voluntarily scrubbing it from his catalog.

David Jonsson, the fast-rising British star of “Alien: Romulus,” “Rye Lane” and “Industry,” has joined Phoebe Arnstein’s short film “If You’re Happy” as executive producer.
Starring “The Crown” alumnus Erin Doherty (soon to be seen in Disney+ series “A Thousand Blows”), “If You’re Happy” follows Lotte (Doherty) as she navigates the daunting challenges and demands of early motherhood. Seeking connection, she attends a local baby group led by a bizarre teacher (Jo Hartley). Lotte is further displaced by the surreal environment and uses a childish game to vent her fury, sparking an unexpected, primal outpouring of emotions amongst the other mothers.

Lawrence is set to direct and produce the next “Hunger Games” prequel, “Sunrise on the Reaping,” which is slated for release in November 2026. He also recently wrapped production on an adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Long Walk,” which will star Cooper Hoffman and also be released by Lionsgate.

Earlier this year, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk (which was, like The Running Man and Thinner, published under the pen name Richard Bachman) went into production, with director Francis Lawrence, whose previous credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2, Red Sparrow, Slumberland, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, at the helm. Now, cast member Judy Greer (the Halloween and Ant-Man franchises) has said that the film Lawrence has made out of King’s story is beautiful and dark.
An adaptation of The Long Walk has been trudging through development hell for decades. At one point, the rights were in the hands of Frank Darabont, who made the King adaptations The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. Then the rights passed over to New Line Cinema, where...

Judy Greer has teased 'The Long Walk' will be a "dark, but beautiful" adaptation of the original book. The upcoming movie – which is based on Stephen King's 1979 horror novel of the same name – will follow a brutal "competition" where 100 teenage boys are forced to walk until all but one have collapsed, and now the 49-year-old actress has teased the upcoming film will do justice to the book's dystopian tale through the "stunning" performances of her co-stars.In an interview with Collider, Greer said: "It’s a dark story about a competition show. But it’s beautiful, and the performances that I got to watch when I was on set were stunning."The 'Halloween' actress - who stars opposite Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson and Mark Hamill in the flick – quipped that her husband Dean E. Johnsen was shocked by the book's story. She said: "My husband just read the book,...

Judy Greer, who stars in the upcoming Stephen King adaptation The Long Walk, shares insight into the film's dark themes. Based on Kings 1979 novel, The Long Walk is a dystopian thriller following 100 teenage boys forced into a brutal endurance competition: walking U.S. Highway 1, facing the threat of soldiers if they fall behind. Directed by Hunger Games veteran Francis Lawrence, the adaptation stars young talents Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson in lead roles, supported by an ensemble cast with Halloweens Greer and Star Wars icon Mark Hamill. A release date has yet to be announced.
In an interview with Collider, Greer spoke about her experience on the set of The Long Walk and the adaptations faithfulness to Kings novel. Every Stephen King fan remembers their first experience with a bad King ending. For many it's "The Stand," where after over a thousand pages of build-up the day is saved by God himself swooping down and blowing up the bad guys. For other readers, it's "It," which features a sex scene so controversial that most non-book readers think you're joking when you tell them about it.
My first disappointment with King came at the end of "The Long Walk," a riveting 300-page thriller King wrote under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. I read the entire book in one sitting almost without even realizing it; it was disturbing, immersive, and fast-paced, and by the final chapter I...

A sci-fi thriller Stephen Kingadaptation is now available to stream after being removed from another platform. Across film and television, there is a litany of upcoming King adaptations in various stages of development. On the immediate front, however, there are three big-screen projects to watch for: The Monkey, helmed by Longlegs director Osgood Perkins; Edgar Wright's The Running Man starring Glen Powell; and Francis Lawrence's The Long Walk. The first two movies are slated for 2025, while the third is undated.
On the TV side, there's Welcome to Derry, the television adaptation of the It movies, which will bring back Bill Skarsgrd in the role of Pennywise. It was also recently announced that King's seminal novel Carrie will be adapted as a miniseries by The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass creator Mike Flanagan. Judy Greer, Sean Astin, Bryan Cranston and John Goodman have all signed on to star in the upcoming dark comedy feature Chili Finger, with first-timers Edd Benda and Stephen Helstad to co-direct. Helstad wrote the script and Goodman is an executive producer. Additional castmembers Sarah Herrman and Paul Stanko are currently attached, with production slated to begin next spring. The film is produced by Beyond the Porch and Gold Tree Studios.
Chili Finger tells the story of a recently empty-nested mother (Greer) who discovers a human finger in her bowl of fast-food chili. When she blackmails the restaurant for a cash payout, the situation spirals out of control and her life descends into chaos.
So far, Astin, Cranston and Goodman’s characters are being kept under wraps.
“We couldn’t ask for a better cast to bring our quirky dark comedy to the big screen,” said co-directors Benda and Helstad.

Some very exciting news for horror fans this evening, as Mike Flanagan is re-teaming with Stephen King for a new small-screen adaptation of the legendary's author's first novel, Carrie.
Deadline reports that the pair - who recently collaborated on the upcoming The Life of Chuck - are developing the supernatural coming-of-rage tale as an eight-episode series for Amazon, with Flanagan on board as showrunner and exec producer.
Brian De Palma's 1976 take on the book is widely viewed as one of the better King adaptations, with Sissy Spacek delivering a terrifying and tragic turn as the title character, who begins to manifest destructive telekinetic abilities after being relentlessly bullied by her classmates and tormented by her domineering religious fanatic mother. John Travolta, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, Nancy Allen, Betty Buckley and William Katt also starred.
The movie's climactic bloodbath is often hailed as one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history.

The Master of Horror and, well, the other Master of Horror are back in business! That's right folks, after successfully helming 2017's Gerald's Game, 2019's Doctor Sleep and the already critically acclaimed — and hopefully soon to be released — The Life Of Chuck, it looks like Midnight Mass maestro Mike Flanagan is set to work his magic on another Stephen King classic. According to Deadline, Flanagan — who's already got a new Dark Tower series in his Prime Video pipeline — is gearing up to helm an 8-episode adaptation of King's epochal 1974 novel Carrie at Amazon.
Now we bring you this news with a small pinch of salt (word of a Flanagan Carrie series was first shared via Deadline's grapevine column The Dish), but given Flanagan's existing Amazon overall deal and his aforementioned prior successes taking King's work from page to screen, there's enough credibility to these reports to suggest our hype train...

Mike Flanagan, fresh off a successful run at the Toronto Film Festival with ‘The Life of Chuck,’ is not slowing down. According to Deadline, he’s teaming up again with Stephen King to transform the iconic novel ‘Carrie’ into an 8-episode series for Amazon.
This project marks another significant collaboration between the seasoned director and the celebrated author.
‘Carrie’ was King’s breakout novel back in 1974, capturing the struggles of a sheltered young girl with destructive powers triggered by her oppressive upbringing and high school bullying.
The book’s first adaptation came two years later, a film directed by Brian De Palma and starring Sissy Spacek. It set the standard for numerous adaptations that followed, including a 2002 TV movie and a 2013 film featuring Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.

At the start of last year, former DC Films boss Walter Hamada signed a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures, the idea being that he would become, as Deadline put it, “the architect of Paramount’s mainstream horror genre pod, with the mission to release several low- to mid-budget films per year across theatrical and streaming.” Recently, there have been casting announcements for a movie called Primate, which is being directed by genre regular Johannes Roberts and is part of Hamada’s horror-minded efforts at Paramount. Now, Deadline has broken the news that another Hamada horror project that’s moving forward at Paramount has gotten another genre regular, Andre Ovredal, to sign on as director.
Ovredal will be directing this other film from a screenplay written by Zachary Donohue and T.W. Burgess. Donohue previously directed and co-wrote the 2013 found footage horror film The Den and wrote and directed the TV series The Unknowable.

Stephen King calls out an upcoming horror movie as stellar. King is a prolific author within the horror genre, whose works have been developed into countless iconic films, including Carrie, The Shining, and It. Another King adaptation is coming soon with the Mike Flanagan-directed movie The Life of Chuck. One of King's more genre-bending works, The Life of Chuck has gotten great reviews thus far and won the coveted audience award at the Toronto Independent Film Festival earlier this month. In addition to this film, other King adaptations in the works include The Long Walk and The Running Man.
Now, King takes to social media to sing the praises of an upcoming horror movie.
I watched one of the best movies I've seen this year. It's called The Rule Of Jenny Pen, and I urge you to watch it when it appears on Shudder. Geoffrey Rush stars, with John Lithgow...

Frank Darabont has briefly exited retirement to direct a couple of Stranger Things episodes. But could it lead to a permanent return?
Frank Darabont has only directed four feature films, a pretty slim filmography by the standards of most directors. However, when three of those films are The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist, a trio of classic Stephen King adaptations, it makes you wonder why Darabont’s body of work as a director isn’t larger.
After all, Frank Darabont’s disappearance from the world of film directing doesn’t appear to be some kind of self-imposed exile such as the one that Quentin Tarantino is planning for himself.
Instead, Darabont’s retreat from filmmaking seemed to happen around the time that he became embroiled in a bitter creative and ultimately, legal dispute over the future of AMC’s The Walking Dead show, which he steered to...

A modern heist film classic or “Heat” for the Monster Energy drink crowd? Over a half-decade later, the vote is still out on Christian Gudagest‘s “Den Of Thieves,” STXfilm‘s mid-budget hit from 2018. Maybe the upcoming sequel will help settle the debate about the original’s quality.

Variety has announced its 10 Actors to Watch for 2024, naming breakthrough and up-and-coming actors whose stars are on the rise. Over the years, the list has included more than 35 Oscar winners and nominees, including Viola Davis, Mahershala Ali, Timothée Chalamet and Brie Larson. The10 to Watch lists have been a Variety staple since 1997, with Actors to Watch highlighted since 1998, with many performers from awards season prospects.
This year is no exception, including actors in such high-profile upcoming films as “Emilia Pérez,” “Queer,” “A Complete Unknown” and “Gladiator II.”
The honorees will be profiled in the Oct. 17 issue of Variety and feted at a special brunch on Oct. 20 at the Newport Beach Film Festival Honors presented by Visit Newport Beach. While Stephen King is best known for his chilling horror novels and short stories, the author has actually ventured into several other genres across the years, and his non-horror books are surprisingly great. He may have made his name with supernatural scares like Carrie and The Shining, but his talents arent restricted to frightening the reader; many of his less terrifying reads are among Stephen Kings best books ever, largely because of their emotional weight, rich fantasy, or complex worldbuilding.
King has written plenty of non-horror novellas and short stories throughout his career, but its the full-length books that are the most interesting. For an author so deeply entrenched in a single genre, releasing an entire book that tackles completely different issues and new structures is extremely impressive. In fact, some of the best Stephen King movie adaptations come from his non-horror works, proving just how versatile he is as a storyteller.

The 1975 Stephen King horror classic Salem’s Lot is coming back to life, with a new feature-length adaptation heading to Max on October 3.
A new trailer, set against the backdrop of Gordon Light’s 1974 song “Sundown,” gives a peak of what happens when killer vampires descend on the sleepy Maine town of Jerusalem’s Lot.
This new adaptation of King’s novel – starring Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Pilou Asbæk, Alfre Woodard, and William Sadler – was written and directed Gary Dauberman, the co-writer on the 2017 adaptation of It and the 2018 sequel It Chapter Two.

A new set photo from The Long Walk has revealed an early glimpse at Mark Hamill's character in the Francis Lawrence movie. The upcoming The Long Walk is an adaptation of Stephen King's 1979 dystopian novel of the same name, originally written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, in which 200 teenage boys are forced to take part in a yearly walking contest with life or death stakes. Hamill and Judy Greer are the major adult presences in the cast, which largely consists of young actors including Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, and Roman Griffin Davis.

[This story contains major spoilers for Strange Darling.]
There was a period of time when Strange Darling filmmaker Jt Mollner didn’t want to give a detailed interview like this one. He intended for his thoughts on his six-chaptered, nonlinear thriller to correspond with a tight-lipped marketing campaign that sets a deviant predator in motion as he hunts his prey. And while the now-critically acclaimed film’s various marketing materials boil the premise down to Kyle Gallner’s “The Demon” and his tenacious pursuit of Willa Fitzgerald’s “The Lady,” Mollner eventually agreed with Magenta Light Studios’ marketing team about the necessity of tipping their hand ever so slightly. Thus, potential viewers were given an indication that Strange Darling wasn’t going to be another formulaic offering involving a final girl.
Venturing into spoiler territory, the film’s marketing and first few chapters may establish Fitzgerald’s character as the target of a serial killer, but...

Your browser does not support the video tag. Strange Darling boasts a star-studded cast, led by Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner in gripping performances. Writer/director Jt Mollner sought to flip the final girl trope on its head with the film, while also recalling how the non-chronological story came to him "spontaneously", and the unique search to cast Fitzgerald and Gallner. Producer/director of photography Giovanni Ribisi creates a visually stunning film with a unique color palette, recalling the discussions he and Mollner had to make each chapter of the film "feel like its own universe".
Jt Mollner is back in the director's chair for one of the twistiest thrillers of the year with Strange Darling. The filmmaker previously made his directorial debut with the 2016 Western home invasion thriller Outlaws and Angels, for which he assembled a star-studded cast including Chad Michael Murray, Francesca Eastwood, and Luke Wilson. David Jonsson's performance in Alien: Romulus sets the stage for his exciting role in Stephen King's The Long Walk. Alien: Romulus captures the eerie atmosphere of the original Alien movie, with realistic effects and a naturalistic group dynamic. Jonsson shines in a dual role as a conflicted android in Alien: Romulus, showcasing his versatility for the horror genre in The Long Walk.
David Jonssons incredible performance as Andy in Alien: Romulus makes his upcoming role in the dystopian Stephen King adaptation The Long Walk even more exciting. The Long Walk is being adapted into a movie with a faithful tone and setting to the original novel. The movie adaptation is directed by Francis Lawrence and features a promising cast. The team behind The Long Walk is dedicated to creating a faithful, R-rated adaptation, making it a potential standout among recent King adaptations.
Among the many adaptations of Stephen Kings works that are in development is The Long Walk, and the more I hear about it, the more excited I am about it and the more hopeful I am that it will succeed. The short stories and novels of Stephen King continue to inspire countless artists and are still a great source for filmmakers. Various adaptations of Kings works are constantly in development, and many of them have gone through many obstacles that have delayed the projects. Such is the case for The Long Walk, which had a complicated pre-production process.

If you missed A Quiet Place: Day One in cinemas, worry not. The prequel is coming to digital, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Uhd very soon.
Prequels seem to be all the rage in 2024 and they’ve been pretty excellent too. The First Omen scared our socks off, while Furiosa took us on a wild ride across a brutal wasteland. A Quiet Place: Day One – perhaps a little surprisingly – might be the best out of the lot.
As the title suggests, the film tracks the events of the day the aliens landed on Earth and rendered it near silent, leading to the events of John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place films. We’ve embedded a trailer further below in case you want to watch it.
If you’re keen to watch the film from the comfort of your own home, that’s possible as early as next week. You can buy...

HBO's Industry has returned with its third season, which is seeing impressively positive reviews and ratings just two episodes in. The British drama is growing in audience and I'm certain this season is going to be the biggest one yet. Following an investment bank called Pierpoint & Co, Industry shows us the good, the bad, and the straight-up evil side of corporate life, and how far people are willing to go to succeed. The first season follows recent graduates fighting for permanent spots at the bank, while seasons 2 and 3 show us what's next for those who stay.
We also get to catch up with those who leave Pierpoint, including the character Gus Sackey, played by David Jonsson. Gus struggles with his place at the bank in season 1 after his teammate Hari dies in the office. Ultimately, he decides it's too unethical of a place for him, understandably, and the second season...

The Long Walk star David Jonsson has called the shoot for the Stephen King movie "beautifully brutal." According to Jonsson, he has had to walk 14 miles a day while on set. The movie involves a dystopian walking contest where slowing down means death.

Crushing economic peril forcing otherwise sensible characters into playing potentially deadly games is an evergreen sci-fi topic — and usually, the dystopian circumstances in which the characters find themselves aren’t so difficult for us to imagine. Netflix’s Squid Game jumps off from the real crisis of personal debt in South Korea to present a 456-person, multi-round battle for a prize equivalent to $35 million Usd for whoever can outlast all their fellow contestants. Stephen King returned to the idea a couple of times: we’re only a year away from when he imagined a TV network airing The Running Man, a fight to the death only slightly more horrifying than some actual reality shows, and the spirit of The Long Walk lives on in “hands on a hard body” endurance contests. The majority of Stephen King's novels (and many of his short stories) have been adapted into films or TV projects over the years, but there a few outliers that have yet to make the leap from page to screen. While it seems inevitable that sooner or later, every King work (with one notable exception) will be adapted, you have to wonder why some books have yet to materialize as movies. In 2016, King was asked by Deadline if there were any books he was surprised hadn't been adapted yet, and he had an answer: "The Regulators." If you came of age in the 1990s, as I did, and were a Stephen King nerd, as I was (and still am), you know all about "The Regulators," because it wasn't a normal Stephen King release. In fact, it technically wasn't even a Stephen King book — it was attributed to King's pseudonym, Richard Bachman.
