While living in a retirement home, a group of friends passing the end of their life away playing games with each other come to believe that the series of strange accidents and deaths is not natural causes but a soul-stealing demon disguised as a worker there and must try to stop its deadly quest.
Overall, this was a pretty solid and enjoyable genre effort. One of the better features here is the rather nice way this one manages to bring about the scenario at play. As there's a fine build-up of life at the retirement center, focusing on the group of friends who spend their days like most would imagine who are either playing games together or complaining about their lot in life that's about to end, the central setup here isn't too bad and provides this with a rather engrossing premise. With this all enhanced by the work of the demon manipulating her way through the facility trying to complete her mission, this all ends up offering the film a solid central premise. This setup brings about a rather fun time as the work of the demon moving through the facility gets carried out rather well. Knowing that the demonic entity isn't a truly bad person as they're trying to accomplish her own mission based on a past experience, the way through which this happens with him trying to convince the others of what's going on but using the way wrong to go about it with the demon's powers able to help her come through it all with the kind of innocence that will allow her to keep working on others. These scenes are generally fun enough and provide the kind of thrilling indie confrontations that let her powers come to the forefront and keep this one entertaining, giving this one quite a lot to like. There's not much to dislike here but it does have some problems. Among its main damaging issues is the excessively overlong finale that tends to go on quite a bit longer than it should've been. It seems to go back and forth with him willing to go along with the ruse to stopping her quest for the souls and fighting back at random so it feels very chaotic and jumbled but also adds in tons of excessive moments dragging the running time up considerably. On top of that, some of the confrontations also highlight the overarching low-budget limitations here, with silly CGI graphics, a one-location setup, and no real gore which is to be expected and holds it down.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language and Violence.
