Also, it didn't help that he was frozen in a glacier as a young man in the 1940s and remained in cryo-stasis for many decades, awakening in the 2010s. His old would-be girlfriend Peggy (Hayley Atwell), his age in the 1940s, had become elderly while he was frozen, kind of interrupting any romance they might have fostered.

One of the main reasons the audience loves Ne Zha 2 and prefers international films over American ones is that it doesn’t try hard to please the audience. Jiaozi wrote a genuine political and social commentary without compromising on character arcs and providing surface-level inclusivity.

After all, Ne Zha 2 does surround the theme of generational conflict, along with anti-imperialism, class struggle, and discrimination. You can’t have these without a bit of preachiness but the director does it in a subtle way that Disney should learn.

Chris Hemsworth might wield Mjolnir on screen, but at home, he faced a tiny but mighty superhero preference crisis. The Thor: Love and Thunder star recently shared an amusing Instagram post revealing that his seven-year-old son doesn’t see the God of Thunder as the ultimate hero. Instead, he has his sights set on DC’s caped crusader.

“Holding my little man’s hand and asking him the age-old question, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’” Hemsworth wrote. “‘Dad, I wanna be Superman.’ Lucky I have two other kids.”

It may have taken a month and a half, but 2025 just experienced its first true blockbuster weekend at the box office. Thanks to the combination of Valentine's Day and President's Day, Marvel Studios' "Captain America: Brave New World" had itself a damn fine opening. It ultimately pulled in $88.5 million over the weekend domestically, and its stateside total should easily exceed $100 million once the Monday holiday is factored in. That's also in spite of competition from the family-friendly "Paddington in Peru," which debuted with $13 million.

Overseas, director Julius Onah's contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe brought in $92.4 million for a $180.9 million global start. The paper quotes a source saying the royal author has told friends he plans to stay in the city for a minimum of three to five years.
