Season one and two were filmed at Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Specifically, the main filming location is the Barceló Puerto Vallarta Hotel, which is painted pink and serves as the fictional "Las Colinas" hotel in the show. The hotel is located in the Marina Vallarta area, on the north side of Puerto Vallarta.
Although the main characters of Maximo, Hugo and Sara share the same name and relationship as in "How To Be A Latin Lover," they are completely different storylines.
In Season 2 Episode 7, the song playing in the background is called "Mi CuCu" by Sonora Dinamita. This song was released in 1988 and the setting for the episode is in 1985. This is a chronological error since the song shouldn't exist.
