Pirkka-Pekka Petelius was first attached to the leading role, but he decided to step down after one day of shooting. Kai Lehtinen was asked to replace him.
Author Veikko Huovinen died two days before he was supposed to see the final version of the movie. Huovinen was very interested of the project and even visited the filming location in summer 2009 and gave his "blessing" on the makers of the movie.
