Daisy says she's been using blanks, so she's never actually killed anyone. However, her pistol cycles just fine. Automatic pistols won't cycle with blanks without a special adapter, which prevents them from firing live ammunition.
Violet says she needs more ammo, but the dead thugs have lots of loaded guns. However, while she should have thought of this, as Daisy later points out it is necessary to use their own guns to avoid forensic detection and none of the thugs have the proper caliber of ammunition.
When the girls shoot their guns with their eyes closed, Violet's gun also empties with the slide back, but in the next shot she fires once more, and then again the gun has the slide in the empty position.
When Violet and Daisy are shooting The Guy with their eyes closed Daisy fires about 8 shots with the slide on her gun locked back indicating that the magazine is already empty.
The reason that Daisy recognizes the legendary assassin Number 1 on sight is because of the "1" clearly emblazoned on the sleeve of her suit.
