Allison Mack has been released from prison.
The Smallville alum had been serving a three-year sentence in prison after pleading guilty to manipulating women into becoming sex slaves via the Nxivm cult.
She was charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy and handed a three-year sentence.
News of her release was first shared by Albany Times-Union, which revealed the actress was released Monday, July 3, from a federal prison in Dublin, California, near San Francisco.
The news means that Mack served two of the three years.
Allison Mack was initially facing up to 17 years in prison, but cooperating with prosecutors pursuing a case against ringleader Keith Raniere helped her secure a shorter sentence.
Before her sentencing, Mack wrote a statement to the judge expressing "remorse and guilt" for her actions.

By now we all know that nothing can stop a zombie apocalypse, not even the series finale of "The Walking Dead." The main show may be over after a whopping 11-season run, but the spin-offs are flying fast and furious and the next one up just got a brand new, full-length trailer.
I myself fell off of "The Walking Dead" wagon shortly after Negan was introduced and haven't kept up with it since somewhere around the middle of season 7, but it's unquestionable that "The Walking Dead" is a franchise that fosters a huge fandom. The cast and crew still pack huge halls at conventions and the memes just won't stop making their way onto my For You pages.

One of the most exciting parts of "Yellowjackets" season 2, which premiered on March 26, is the addition of Elijah Wood as Walter. Showtime (via Yahoo!) describes his character as "a dedicated Citizen Detective who will challenge Misty in ways she won't see coming." He has an equal passion for sleuthing and true crime, and he accompanies Misty on her investigation of Natalie's whereabouts after she was kidnapped by a mysterious group in season 1.
It is unclear if Walter and Misty will be romantic interests, but their playful interactions and quirky qualities will certainly bring some lightheartedness to the grim series. "The journey that we're on in this particular season is really funny. The show's dark and gnarly and a lot of what we got to do together was kind of like the comic relief," Elijah Wood explains in Entertainment Tonight. Anderson will star as Marshall, who is described as “always angry. Marshall is Catherine’s short fused boss. Unimpressed by her reluctance to take her clients to trial, the stern Marshall makes her shadow Efren, her cocky, trial-hungry office rival. Monday’s series premiere, an hourlong parade of brawls, backstabs and bitchy one-liners, is a solid sampling of what the grade-a guilty pleasure has to offer.

The unique live action/animation comedy Son of Zorn is no more. Fox announced the cancellation today after only one season.
The show was about a cartoon barbarian warrior (voiced by Jason Sudeikis), that was trying to assimilate into real-life Orange County where his son and ex-wife lived. It was created by Wilfred‘s Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne, and executive-produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie).
Entertainment Weekly reports that Fox was not happy with how Zorn was performing in the ratings.
This is kind of a bummer, as I thought the show was pretty funny and very unique. It definitely had room for improvement and we could have easily seen that had Fox renewed.

Running Wild plays like if Michael Bay directed Flicka and as the old saying goes two wrongs do not make a right. Now, if you enjoy Michael Bay (Pain and Gain and The Rock are awesome) and you enjoy Flicka, well then this might just be the movie for you. If those movies aren’t your cup of tea, though, you might want to steer clear.
The bringing up of those two recognizable names (Flicka maybe less than Michael Bay) comes with a good purpose in that the film emulates the style of one and the familiar plot elements of the other. Running Wild is about a woman (Dorian Brown, who was excellent on Wilfred) trying to keep her ranch afloat after the death of her husband. To adapt any Douglas Adams property, one must be confident, ambitious, foolhardy and willing to fail big time. Creator Max Landis is all of those things, and for all of its faults, at least his take on “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” is wholly its own spastic, frantic and technicolor beast.
Adams’ books are not necessarily sacred texts (some may disagree), but his absolute mastery of the absurd balanced with his satirical take on human nature and an overarching cosmic view is difficult to approximate, much less imitate. Even his most adapted series “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” has had its share of tepid if not cringe-worthy transitions to the screen.

With the lesser known “Dirk Gently,” more license is given because its story and the author’s observational tone are less accessible.

Soon to be seen in Nacho Vigalondo‘s highly-anticipated Colossal at Tiff, and next year in the upcoming Ocean’s Eight alongside a massive cast, Anne Hathaway has another project in her sights. She’s signed on to star in and produce an adaptation of Jenny Mollen‘s novel Live Fast Die Hot according to Variety, which is not a cross-over spin-off on the Die Hard and Fast & Furious series.
In fact, it is a collection of personal essays from the author that delve into adulthood, responsibility, and proving that you can travel alone without ending up in a Taken-esque scenario. Mollen herself has a particular set of skills as a writer and actress who lives in New York, who has appeared in films such as Crazy, Stupid, Love and TV episodes on Wilfred and Girls. The adaptation is in association with Warner Bros and one can check back for more details.

Starz is remaking Peep Show again, but this time with the involvement of original creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong...
What is the Us equivalent of Croydon? Us cable network Starz is about to find out, as it's developing a new American remake of Peep Show.
I say 'new' in reference to this entirely charmless Us pilot from 2005 starring The Big Bang Theory's Johnny Galecki. That one made the mistake of not involving the UK series creators, losing the PoV trick and thinking that Mark Corrigan's chief character trait was wearing a tie.
The Starz attempt, promisingly, has pulled in original creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong to act as consulting producers on the show. They won't be showrunning it though, that honour goes to Wilfred and Son Of Zorn's Eli Jorne.
Here's what Bain and Armstrong say about the project:
“We are hugely relieved...
