Once again, Louis Theroux has somehow convinced some potentially dangerous and unsavory characters to welcome him into their world. He is in the unlikely town of Fresno, California to investigate the methamphetamine epidemic in this town as well as to talk to the addicts up close and personal in his own particular style. Throughout the course of the show, you'll see Louis tag along with police during drug raids, visit addicts in a treatment program, hang out with drug dealers and thieves and just sit down and chew the fat with addicts who seem to LIKE the life style in a few odd cases.
The show wasn't too surprising to me. After all, meth has been around for years and there's been a lot of talk about it recently. However, watching these folks destroying themselves slowly as well as many of the women doing this in a sick attempt to medicate away their emotional issues was a bit hard to watch. Not pleasant viewing but a reasonably realistic view of the problem.
