When I played the game at first I was a bit disappointed, because it was presented as a gaming-changing new mmo, but actually it is just another one with some new aspects. For those who played GW1 -like me- it's more like a mix of WoW and GW1. The dynamic events actually are a joke. It's nothing but temporary quests. But still: what the game does, it is doing it well! The graphics are okay. You could expect more. What I like is the gameplay, it is quick and although you can only use 8 skills or something it is still fun! Especially if you are playing with a group and you go for a dungeon. There is a very good atmosphere making it very entertaining. And it is very challenging - at least the first times.
Additonally there is somehow a real story. In other mmos you just go from one place to another and do this or that without a real reason. In GW2 there is a really markable story which even builds up tension and ends in a very gripping battle. I don't know in how war WoW also has that but i never liked the gameplay of that game so I am more into GW2. For those who feel the same you really should check the game out. It also has I think monthly free add ons called living world. That is a very positive aspect!

Having recently canceled my WoW subscription, and have been anticipating this game for over a year, GW2 has finally launched. All the hype surrounding this game, and the posts saying that this is a revolutionary entry to the MMORPG genre are true. Guild Wars 2 takes all the questing, grinding, Looting boredom out, and replaces it with a fast paced fun experience. I'm playing a Charr Warrior and am still at Level 23 and still wanting more. I will probably be playing this game for more than a couple of years. In summary if you've been playing WoW or other MMO's and are freaking sick and tired of them, give this game a try its free to play and will have you hooked for a very long time.

After logging about 700 hours into the game, I decided that it was time to finally write my long overdue review. The game play is fantastic and has had me hooked for 2 years now. I personally love the graphics and the cartoony-ish feel of the game, although I know a lot of people don't. The community is amazing. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and I love talking to my fellow players. Same goes for the staff. I've only had one problem with the game (which was my fault) and they addressed it and took care of it immediately for me. The map is great as well. Tyria is very large and beautiful, with much to explore and many different events to take part in, such as fighting dragons. I'll admit that the story can be lacking at times, but I still found it very enjoyable. And it's not a big deal, since there is still so much more to do in the game. I know people that play countless hours every day and still haven't even started the campaign yet. PvP is also great, it's a simple "capture the points and kill each other mode" which I have found to be very enjoyable. And the best part about this game: It is constantly being updated. Every two weeks Arenanet comes out with a massive amount of free content that keeps me coming back every day. Overall, this game is incredible, and I would recommend it to anybody and everybody.

1) Graphics are horrible. We are in 2012, it should not be too much to expect MMO that demands decently built PC to run. Instead what was supposed to be greatest next MMO, ... Orcs Must Die 2 has superior graphics, and that game has very, very simple graphics. GW2 looks about as bad as Aion and Tera.
2) Game mechanics are "push 1, 2, 3, 4" I'm sure some people love mindless pressing of buttons in sequence, but I do not. Obviously it makes it easy for everybody to play, but it also makes it extremely boring as well. Yes, some people don't find it boring, and they play EQ (the first one), or WOW for decade, but those people are more an exception than rule. Most of us move on when novelty wears off.
3) It doesn't even come near justifying hype that got built up around it. Comparable to Starcraft 2. Everybody you talk to saying "oh, yeah, it will reinvent gaming, blah, blah". Well, it did nothing of the sort. Few scripted events that sub for quests, that is not innovative.
4) Plenty of paid reviews that give it great scores. Too bad that people that wrote them don't seem to be playing same game I did.
5) It just is NOT fun. I suggest you wait til it has free trial, don't waste your money like I did.
Originally I intended to write 10 points, but lets just be honest here, this game is not worth wasting that much time on it.
