The DVD version of the movie is interactive, with a branching menu one third through the movie.
Over 130 hours of interviews were shot for the movie.
Partially shot at the Bedquilt portion of the Mammoth Cave system in Kentucky. Negotiations took place over a year and shooting took place over an 8-hour period with the director and a party of four cavers. Less than a tenth of the cave was explored during the expedition.
