When PC Adams arrives at the Lodge he would have followed procedure and transmitted 'Status 6' (On Scene) - to his Control Room. They would then have scheduled 15 minute welfare checks as he was Single Crewed. At the first missed check they would have sent backup. Furthermore, at any point he could have activated the Emergency Button on the top of his Sepura Tetra body radio - a press of only 2 seconds activates an alarm and an 'open mike' and would have brought every available unit to his location swiftly.
