The hit London revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard is heading to Broadway later this year and bringing star Nicole Scherzinger and the rest of the West End principal cast with it.
As Deadline’s Baz Bamigboye revealed before Christmas, Scherzinger will make her Broadway debut reprising her acclaimed performance as Norma Desmond.
Although production dates and venue are still to be announced, producers said today that the musical will star Scherzinger along with her West End castmates Tom Francis (as Joe Gillis), Grace Hodgett-Young (Betty Schaefer) and David Thaxton (Max Von Mayerling).
In addition to preview and opening night dates, additional casting will be announced shortly. A fall 2024 opening has been widely speculated.

In “A Soldier’s Play,” Captain Richard Davenport isn’t meant to sing. But when you cast legendary baritone Norm Lewis in the role, you take advantage of his talents. Lewis can be seen in the national touring production, currently playing at L.A.’s Ahmanson Theatre — and it’s thanks to director Kenny Leon that audiences get to hear Davenport sing at certain points it the show.
Written by Charles Fuller, “A Soldier’s Play” is set on an Army base in 1944, when the military is still segregated. Captain Davenport, a rare Black officer, is sent to investigate the shooting of Sergeant Vernon Waters. Though Black himself, Waters despises and persecutes Black men who he feels perpetuate old-fashioned stereotypes.

(Welcome to Ani-time Ani-where, a regular column dedicated to helping the uninitiated understand and appreciate the world of anime.)
Music is an instrumental part of anime. There are hundreds of shows about music, filled with musical performances. But the vast majority of them are just about singers or bands trying to make it big. Actual musicals are next to non-existent, and spontaneously breaking into song isn't really a thing in anime. This is why any show that dares explore the theatricality of musicals is worth checking out.
One such anime is "Dance with Devils," a musical that's also a reverse harem — meaning, a story about a single girl being pursued by many male love interests. The story follows Ritsuka, a regular high school girl whose mother gets kidnapped one day. It turns out, Ritsuka holds the key to finding a magical artifact called the Grimoire, which holds tremendous power,...

“It’s a massive transformation,” explains “Funny Girl” star Ramin Karimloo of his character journey as Nicky Arnstein. The Broadway musical theatre veteran lends his signature vocal pyrotechnics to the role in this first-ever Broadway revival of the Jule Styne and Bob Merrill musical, but it’s the dramatic places he charts as an actor which make his version of Arnstein thrilling to witness. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
When theater lovers get excited about “Funny Girl” it’s probably because of the gripping story and legendary songs for its central character Fanny Brice (played by Beanie Feldstein in this revival). But Karimloo is relishing the fact that he gets to put “more meat on the bones” of Nicky Arnstein’s story thanks to some smart revisions of the book, courtesy of Harvey Fierstein. “You always want to play the transition,” states the actor, “results are boring.” The performer...

Nostalgia is a powerful drug. But even stronger than the power of remembering how good we once had it, is the power of wondering how good it might be. To yearn — for love, for a better life, for a better future — is to be human, and Hollywood has long tapped into that all-consuming emotion. Or maybe they've weaponized it against us and created stories of yearning so powerful that we live vicariously through them and forget what we ourselves truly want. Enter: "The Matrix Resurrections."

With Cats horrifying audiences around the world, including possibly you, let's all step into a hot-air balloon and travel to the heavenly lands of speculation. You see, a screen adaptation of the silliest mega-musical in Andrew Lloyd Weber's repertoire (give or take Love Never Dies or Starlight Express) was already a dicey proposition, but it needn't be so doomed. But add to that the deranged incompetence of Tom Hooper and digital fur technology, and we have something for the pantheon of all-time bad movies.
What could have been done to avoid catastrophe? Many psychologically scarred movie-goers may be asking this question from the depths of the madness that now consumes them: Could this have been any different? Could it have been better? Could it have been good, even? Maybe…...

Like the Phantom of the Opera — and “The Phantom of the Opera” — “Love Never Dies” isn’t dead yet.
The musical, mega-composer Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to his record-breaking smash “Phantom of the Opera,” is showing signs of life on the road in the U.S., where the title is turning heads at the box office after a dispiritingly brief premiere engagement on the West End eight years ago.
“We’ve got eight shows on the road right now, and ‘Love Never Dies’ is outselling them all,” said Randy Buck, CEO of Troika Entertainment, the touring musical producer with road versions of “An American in Paris” and “On Your Feet!” among its stable. “Love” is doing so well, in fact, that Buck cops to bigger dreams for the show.
“Broadway is certainly a possibility,” he said. “We are looking at that for early next year. I think we would come in,...

If you’re looking for a sneak peek of the next episode, we have the first two photos and preview videos from Live Bait.
“In the highly anticipated new season, we find Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the group fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr., The Wire).”

The dark, sensual and intense pop grooves of Miss Fd have made her a perennial favorite at FEARnet, and her 2011 album Love Never Dies contained her most haunting music to date. Her new project, Comfort for the Desolate, represents the next chapter in an ever-evolving body of work, which sees each album capturing moments, emotions and reflections as an “audio diary.” While the songs in Love Never Dies channeled intense feelings of loss and despair, the seven tracks here represent a step beyond the ideas of hope or hopelessness, of fate, even existence itself – choosing instead to embrace the here and now. But if...
