The 7th instalment of the Alien franchise brings some new faces, some new ideas, and some old ones too.
Cailee Spaeny has had a breakout 12 months, from her brilliant performance in Priscilla last year, to one of the year’s best films in Civil War. Now Spaeny stars in Alien: Romulus as Rain, a young girl trapped on a run-down planet, trying to find a way off for her and her adopted synthetic brother. After her efforts of working her way off the planet are halted, her chance of escape comes when a group of seemingly old friends find an abandoned Weyland ship floating just out of the planet’s atmosphere. The group realises the ship has enough supplies to take...

‘Alien: Covenant’ star Katherine Waterson has called on director Sir Ridley Scott to finish the sci-fi trilogy. The 44-year-old actress appeared in the second instalment of the ‘Alien’ prequel trilogy in 2017 - which followed on from 2012’s ‘Prometheus’ - as space explorer Daniels opposite Michael Fassbender’s android David, and though she isn't sure if she'd be needed for a third film, she's called on the 86-year-old filmmaker to finish the story for good as she'd happily watch as a fan.Speaking with Inverse, Waterson said: “Keep David coming. [He’s] just this amazing character. I like to think that Daniels made it out of the pod, but I'm not sure. “I just love that world. And Ridley is a dream. He's an incredible person and a great collaborator. I'd personally love to work with him again, but even if I wasn't involved, I'd just love to go to the cinema and watch it.

In 2012 the original ‘Alien’ franchise expanded in the past with the release of ‘Alien: Prometheus’ In ‘Prometheus,’ a group of scientists and explorers travel to a distant planet after discovering ancient clues that suggest humans were created by an alien race called the Engineers.
The follow-up movie ‘Alien: Covenant’ ties into these events. A colony ship called the Covenant is on a mission to a distant planet to start a new human settlement. They discover a remote world that seems perfect for colonization, but soon find it’s the home of a deadly alien species and the artificial lifeform David, who survived the events of ‘Prometheus.’
As the crew investigates, they encounter terrifying xenomorphs and must fight for survival against the deadly creatures. The film ends with David taking control, setting the stage for more horrors to come.

Ridley Scott made history with his 1979 film sci-fi film Alien which set off a chain reaction. Other filmmakers tried to follow in his footsteps to create another masterpiece that could rival or even stand up to the original. Alas, the follow-ups only further proved the Gladiator director’s genius, which others couldn’t replicate.
However, things changed when the Don’t Breathe director Fede Álvarez took up the task. Alien: Romulus was a refreshing sci-fi venture that many believed was the best-reviewed film from the franchise, except for the first one. The movie’s success almost guaranteed a sequel, but fans are apprehensive about its fate. Although the director is cautious in his approach viewers have some stipulations for the potential follow-up.

Alien: Romulus was a success at the box office while also proving to be a big hit with critics, and 20th Century Studios boss Steve Asbell recently confirmed that early plans are in pace for a sequel.
Director Fede Álvarez has now indicated that he is in talks to return, while explaining why he's hesitant to move forward until they have a story worth telling.
"Well, I mean, we definitely want to do it," the Don't Breathe director tells Gizmodo. "The studio wants to do it. I want to do it. I think with sequels, it’s always about finding the right story. Conventional spy-drama wisdom has us believe that fictional covert operatives are malleable masters of improvisation who are tough to corral. Correspondingly, their most effective handlers exhibit sympathy and understanding mixed with a no-nonsense willingness to make tough calls. In Paramount+ With Showtime’s upcoming The Agency, that blend of warmth and gravitas comes in the form of the CIA’s London Station deputy station chief Henry Ogletree, played by Jeffrey Wright.
The Agency is based on the French series The Bureau and follows an operative known as Martian (Alien: Covenant‘s Michael Fassbender) as he struggles to re-enter his normal...

The gates to the arena are open once more. Inside, acts of loyalty and betrayal, battles of wills and fights for ideals await. Prayers are offered to a multitude of gods and ancestors as those whose individual histories — forged from stolen inheritance, valor, land, purpose, and identities — wait for a response. Inside the gates where bloodshed and war await, there is also hope — though battered, bruised and knocked to the ground — that remains in the fight. This arena is Gladiator II and in it, Ridley Scott stares down the world as it rolls forward, a chariot holding all we could be.
When considering Scott’s career, Alien (1979) and Blade Runner (1982) are his most oft-cited and arguably most celebrated works. These films, along with two Alien prequels, Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017) — and to a slightly lesser degree, but no less important, The Martian (2015) — have made Scott synonymous with science-fiction filmmaking, despite...

Director Fede Alvarez recently brought us a new installment in the Alien franchise with his movie Alien: Romulus, but we already have another new Alien project to look forward to. Fargo TV series creator Noah Hawley has been developing an Alien TV series for “FX on Hulu” for the last couple years, and below you’ll find Everything We Know About the Alien TV Series!
The Setting
One of the first things we heard about the Alien series – and one of the most surprising things about it – is that it will actually be set on Earth, a couple decades before the events of the first movie. FX chairman John Landgraf has said the show will take place “right near the end of this century”, and a late-2090s setting would place this between the prequel films Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Ridley Scott’s mooted new “Aliens” franchise was a xenomorph interrupted. Beginning with “Prometheus” and then continuing with “Alien: Covenant,” these prequels to “Alien” were supposed to have at least a third film in the series. However, ‘Covenant,’ which had a nearly $100 million budget, landed softly at the box office, only grossing $240 million worldwide, a significant drop from the $400 million globally that “Prometheus” took home in 2012.

Arriving over two decades after the original film, director Ridley Scott’s latest endeavor, Gladiator II, echoes the story and breadth of the first chapter, but is ultimately a hollow experience devoid of originality or anything other than a mildly disguised reworking of the first film.
The film begins as Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to watch as Romans, led by Marcus Acacius (Pedro Pascal), invade his homeland and slaughter many of his people – including his beloved wife – before taking the survivors back to Rome to fight in the Colosseum. There, Lucius becomes one of the prize warriors owned by Macrinus (Denzel Washington) and is told that he will be granted revenge upon Acacius if he does as Macrinus bids and becomes a champion. Of course, Macrinus has put other plans in motion to improve his own station and as always happens, treachery begets treachery.

Ridley Scott has been trying to squeeze a rhinoceros into the Colosseum for 25 years.
Back in 1999, when he was shooting his first Gladiator film, he talked to animal trainers about the possibility of bringing a real 6,000-pound rhino onto his set but was told the horned animals were too difficult to control. Then he talked to CGI experts to see if a digitized one could be rendered for the movie but learned that the technology was budget-bustingly expensive.
For the next quarter-century, it became a running joke among Scott and his crew. “If we ever do a sequel,” Scott’s producer, Doug Wick, said in an interview in 2020, “Ridley gets his rhino.”
Well, they finally did a sequel, and Ridley got his rhino, a state-of-the-art, remote-controlled animatronic version whipped up by Industrial Light and Magic that can clock speeds of up to 40 miles an hour — while being ridden by a guy with a sword.

Jussie Smollett’s conviction in an alleged hate crime hoax was overturned on Thursday by the Illinois Supreme Court.
The “Empire” actor was convicted in December 2021 of five felony counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly staging a hate crime against himself in 2019 and was sentenced to 150 days in county jail, plus 30 months of probation and $130,000 in restitution. This came after the original charges against him were dropped in March 2019, but the case was picked back up when the state conducted an independent inquiry with a special prosecutor. In December 2023, a state appellate court rejected his bid for an appeal and it was ruled that he would have to complete his full sentence, six days of which he served before being freed pending appeal. Earlier this year, the Illinois Supreme Court agreed to hear his appeal.

Upcoming TV series Alien: Earth has a brief new trailer that has some almost subliminal images buried in it – including what we’re fairly sure is a sheep.
Showrunner Noah Hawley and his collaborators aren’t in a rush to show us too much of the upcoming spin-off series Alien: Earth, coming to FX in 2025. In September, the first teaser trailer emerged – a 15-second piece of footage in which we saw our blue planet reflected in the shiny head of a xenomorph.
Then, at last week’s D23 Brazil live event, a few brief shots from Alien: Earth appeared in a trailer for Disney’s wider slate of offerings coming in 2025 and beyond. As you can see in this compilation of those shots, the six seconds’ footage largely consists of that same shot of Earth reflected in the alien’s head.
Another Alien: Earth teaser trailer dropped today (20th November). And guess what?...

Alien: Romulus may have brought the Xenomorph back to the big screen in style this summer, but next year we'll be getting another, very different sort of Alien project: Alien: Earth. From Fargo creator Noah Hawley, Alien: Earth is set before the original film on, you guessed it, Earth. This is an interesting move for a few reasons, and curiosity has been high among franchise fans about how Alien: Earth would handle this story. Now we finally know a few more details, as well as when we'll get to watch it: Alien: Earth is due to premiere in summer 2025 on Hulu.
This comes from a brand new teaser released today, which comes with the tagline "in 2120, Mother Earth is expecting." You can watch it above.
As for the plot details, Deadline is reporting some brand new information about the series. Alien: Earth is set in the year 2120, a mere two...

Noah Hawley’s Alien prequel series is finally beginning to take form.
A 30-second teaser for the highly anticipated FX horror series Alien: Earth centers on Xenomorph, a feral and screeching creature — and the main antagonists in the Alien film franchise — that has a ragtag group of soldiers fighting for survival. “In 2120, Mother Earth is expecting,” a voiceover says at the start of the teaser (below), followed by the screeching cries of a blood-dripping, sharp-toothed Xenomorph.
FX’s Alien: Earth will bow in summer 2025 on Hulu.
As the title suggests, the series will be set on Earth and take place near the end of the 21st century, before the event’s of Ridley Scott’s 1979 space-horror classic (Scott is an executive producer of the series via his Scott Free company).

Sir Ridley Scott regrets leaving the ‘Alien’ franchise after the first movie. The 86-year-old director helmed the eponymous sci-fi horror flick in 1979 before passing the torch to the series to a string of other filmmakers including James Cameron, David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, though Scott has now admitted he wishes he took full ownership of the I.P. after the his original film proved to be such a critical and commercial hit.In a interview with Deadline, the Ridley said: “We were asleep at the wheel. My advisors, who frankly no longer are with me, were asleep at the wheel, certainly. And I partly blame myself, except I was busy making other films. And so it was let go and it shouldn’t have been.”After making ‘Alien’, Scott went on to make the Harrison Ford-starring sci-fi classic ‘Blade Runner’ and followed it up with fantasy adventure film 'Legend'.

Over a decade on, Ridley Scott has some harsh criticism of his 2012 Alien prequel, Prometheus, and some of his collaborators.
On its release in 2012, Prometheus – director Ridley Scott’s prequel to his own Alien from 1979 – was somewhat divisive. Though most critics agreed that it looked and sounded spectacular, opinions were more split on its characters and the way it filled in previously obscure areas of the Alien universe.
Over a decade on, Scott himself has harshly criticised his own movie. The idea to make the prequel began, he said, when he noticed the ongoing popularity of the original Alien on TV.
“I saw this bloody film that they keep playing every night somewhere on the globe, on all platforms,” Scott told Deadline. “There’s life in the [beast], yet. That’s why I sat down with the great writer [Damon] Lindelof, and we reconstructed a resurrection of the era, with Prometheus, and how it evolved from Alien.

The reviews are in for Gladiator II ahead of its nationwide release next week, and the critics are, for the most part, not giving it the thumbs down, writing resoundingly solid reviews for the action epic that comes to theaters decades after the 2000 Ridley Scott-directed best picture Oscar winner. The sequel has a 77 percent freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 67 average on Metacritic or “generally favorable” reviews.
Gladiator II is set years after the events of the blockbuster hit Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix. In the sequel, Lucius Verus, portrayed by Paul Mescal, the son of Crowe’s Maximus, is forced to fight in the Colosseum after his home is conquered by Rome’s tyrannical emperors. Pedro Pascal’s General Marcus Acacius lays siege to Lucius’ home of Numidia and he must draw on his past to find the strength and honor to restore Rome to its former glory.

Sir Ridley Scott didn’t make his first feature film (1977’s The Duellists) until he was 40 years old. The director, turning 87 at the end of this month, has not wasted any time making up for that late start with a remarkable array of landmark films including Blade Runner, Alien, Thelma and Louise, The Martian, Black Hawk Down and on and on.
Coming off the massive Napoleon, he jumped right into another epic project with a sequel 24 years after 2000’s Gladiator became his only Best Picture Oscar winner (though he lost Best Director to the double-nominated Steven Soderbergh that year). Scott generally has resisted going the sequel route to his films, with his 2012 Prometheus and 2017 Alien: Covenant proving the exceptions, though those two films completing his so-called Alien trilogy came respectively 33 years and 38 years after his much-imitated 1979 hit, Alien. Last month, 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell confirmed that a sequel to director Fede Alvarez’s recently released Alien: Romulus is in the works – so when The Hollywood Reporter mentioned in an article that producer Ridley Scott “revealed he’s developing a new Alien movie for 20th in the wake of Romulus’ success,” they’re probably talking about that Romulus sequel… even though Scott thinks a better choice would be to make a follow-up to his 2017 film Alien: Covenant.
Scott told THR, “Covenant is the best one [for a sequel] because it leaves the girl in the [cryo pod] and [Michael Fassbender’s killer android] David has alien eggs and 2,000 colonists hanging around. It’s a perfect beginning.” Interviewer James Hibberd suggested that the next film could be a sequel to both Covenant and Romulus, since “both films ended with ships headed to a planet we’ve never been to; there’s no reason...

Few of today's modern genre filmmakers have had as great a run as Ridley Scott, the visionary director behind such films as Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, and many more. Later this month, we'll feast our eyes on the 86-year-old director's latest masterpiece, Gladiator II, the sequel to his Oscar-winning 2000 film starring Russell Crowe. For the past several decades, Scott has been running his own production company called Scott Free, which works in tandem with 20th Century Studios and other studios to bring projects to the screen. To mark the upcoming release of Gladiator II, Scott and his team at Scott Free spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his long career, including the anticipated Gladiator sequel, which he calls “the best thing I’ve ever made.”
Starring Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, Paul Mescal, and Pedro Pascal, Gladiator II looks poised to be a big cinema spectacle. The Roman Colosseum will be...

Aliens vs. Avengers #2 finally went on sale today and it opens in another universe where David-8 (played by Michael Fassbender in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant) wipes out the Engineers alongside two of his doubles.
1000 years pass and the three versions of David-8 have wiped out all life in their reality. However, they then discover the existence of the Multiverse and travel to a version of the Marvel Universe which sees them use the Weyland Corporation to take over the world in preparation for an eventual Xenomorph invasion.
In the present, we learn that Iron Man managed to capture a David-8 and now keeps him in a state of suspended animation having removed his head.
It's also revealed that Stark Tower is a rocket ship meant to evacuate the 1,400 or so humans who are still alive. They'll travel into space and colonise a new world, but not before stopping by Mars to meet with the X-Men.

One thing you can count on Ridley Scott for is an honest opinion. The director is famously candid in his interviews, previously blaming the box office for his film "The Last Duel" on the entire millennial generation and talking openly about how he thinks the long-gestating "Alien" TV series won't be as good as his movies.
On that last point, the director might well be onto something, especially if we're talking about his original 1979 masterpiece "Alien." The film that kick-started the franchise really stands on its own as a seminal slow burn space horror, showcasing a mastery of mood and atmosphere that, regardless of Scott's other work, will always serve as a testament to the man's greatness. No matter how good the TV show is, it will indeed never be able to supersede something so monumental.
Surprisingly, Scott is actually attached to that TV project as an executive producer, proving...

Though we have very little to go on, legendary director Sir Ridley Scott has revealed that he is developing a new Alien movie for 20th Century Studios.
Details are pretty much non-existent right now, but THR's report indicates that this will be a completely separate project to the Alien: Romulus sequel that's currently in the works.
20th Century's Steve Asbell recently confirmed that director Fede Alvarez is in talks to helm a direct sequel to Romulus that would continue the journey of the survivors of the previous movie, Rain Carradine and her android brother, Andy.
"We’re working on a sequel idea now. We haven’t quite closed our deal with Fede [Alvarez], but we are going to, and he has an idea that we’re working on. The two survivors, Rain and Andy, played by Cailee Spaeny and David Jonsson, were real highlights of the film. And so I always think of it like,...

When Ridley Scott shot “Alien” in 1978, he didn’t know it was going to be the hit it became upon release in 1979, nor fully understood the legacy it would have in the decades that followed and continues to this day. Moreover, he was only making his second feature, so when 20th Century Fox contracted him to make the film, it was unlikely he would have been given any rights over any future sequels. However, when Scott revived the franchise in 2012 with “Prometheus,” he wishes his production company Scott Free had fought for a financial stake in the series.
“I should have locked them up, as [Steven] Spielberg did with ‘Jurassic,’ and everything he does, and James Cameron has done with what he has,” Scott said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I resurrected a dead ‘Alien’ [franchise] with ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Alien: Covenant,’ and we should have rejoined the ownership right then,...

As Romulus shows, the series is best when it keeps to its slasher-in-space formula – anything more and the old beast starts creaking like a colony ship
Spoiler alert – discusses Alien: Romulus
Back in the 1990s, the Alien franchise’s biggest problem was its inability to dispose of its iconic characters once it became clear they no longer had a meaningful part to play. Remember Ellen Ripley’s unexpected return as a xenomorph-human hybrid clone of herself in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Alien: Resurrection, at least two movies after she should probably have been retired? Honestly we’d have preferred her to come back from the dead as a holographic robo-zen life coach, floating serenely around a doomed space colony to remind everyone to breathe through their terror as they’re facehugged by an extraterrestrial octopus. Anything would have been better than watching Sigourney Weaver morph into a hybrid space gymnast...

An exclusive from director Ridley Scott: among his planned upcoming films, including his Bee Gees biopic and Gladiator III, there’s a mystery sci-fi movie.
The perpetually busy Ridley Scott has recently said that he has the next three years planned out in terms of his filmmaking. First up, there’s You Should Be Dancing, his Bee Gees music biopic which should begin production in early 2025 – he previously talked to us about his plans to make a movie that captures the wider music scene of the 1960s and 70s.
Then there’s Gladiator III, which he says has already been storyboarded and at least partially written (though whether or not it’ll be partly set in a gladiatorial arena seems to be somewhat up in the air).
In our conversation with Mr Scott in September, however, another project came up which he hadn’t, at least to our knowledge,...

We have been getting a lot of prequels in recent years. Some have turned out well, like Furiosa, Orphan: First Kill, Prey, and Pearl. Sometimes they don’t turn out very well, like Leatherface, and sometimes they can be quite divisive, like Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Good or bad, prequels are here to stay, so we have put together a list of Horror Prequels We Want to See.

Let’s face it – Alien movies are not created equal. In my Alien: Romulus review, I noted that there have really only ever been two flawless films in the franchise, with the rest all having moments of genius (well – most of them) but none measuring up to the first two movies in the saga. All of this makes Alien movie rankings quite controversial, as it’s a divisive topic. So, how does our Alien movies ranked list shape up? Let’s dive right in, shall we?
Alien Vs Predator: Requiem (2007)
I honestly couldn’t believe Fox had the gall to release this as a legit entry into the franchise in 2007. At the time, the studio had a bad reputation for putting out half-baked and cheap genre fare (made even more frustrating by how many were based on top-notch properties). This was the nadir of both the Alien and Predator franchises.

This post contains major spoilers for Marvel's "Alien: Romulus" #1.
Director Fede Álvarez brought the "Alien" franchise back to life with this year's "Alien: Romulus." It was the first entry in the franchise in seven years following the commercial disappointment that was Ridley Scott's "Alien: Covenant" in 2017. But Álvarez didn't shy away from touching on Scott's prequels in his film, nor did he shy away from making direct connections to Scott's original 1979 horror/sci-fi masterpiece "Alien." Now, a new comic that serves as a prequel to Álvarez's film makes even more connections to Scott's '70s classic, shining a light on the fate of the first Xenomorph that terrorized the crew of the Nostromo.
Marvel's "Alien: Romulus" #1, written by Zac Thompson and illustrated by Daniel Picciotto, serves as a direct prequel to the events of the film of the same name.

As 20th Century Studios confirms that an Alien: Romulus sequel is on the way, here are the threads and clues about what might happen in it.
Nb: The following contains spoilers for Alien: Romulus. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, why not read our spoiler-free review?
Director Fede Alvarez may previously have been coy about any plans to make a sequel to August’s sci-fi horror Alien: Romulus, but he and writer Rodo Sayagues at least left the story open enough for some sort of continuation.
Alien: Romulus made around $350m worldwide in cinemas, which is a healthy figure for an $80m-budgeted movie originally destined for streaming, and in the wake of that success, 20th Century Studios boss Steve Asbell has confirmed that a sequel is indeed in the planning stages.

Alien: Romulus Director Fede Álvarez In Talks To Helm Sequel; New Predator Movie Also In Development
Two classic sci-fi horror franchises were recently given new leases of life, with the Predator returning to hunt his Prey in Dan Trachtenberg's 2022 movie, and the Xenomorphs back to their chest-bursting best in this year's Alien: Romulus.
Both films were critically-acclaimed and very popular with audiences, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to learn that Disney-owned 20th Century Studios is planning more instalments.
We already knew that a Prey spin-off titled Badlands was in the works, but 20th Century Studios boss Steve Asbell has now revealed that a "secret" Predator movie will also be with us next year that will also be helmed by Trachtenberg. Badlands will be a theatrical release, but it sounds like this other film will be going straight to streaming.

After the unfortunate box office disappointment of the criminally underrated "Alien: Covenant," 20th Century Studios opted to veer off from director Ridley Scott's trilogy of movies following the adventures of the android xenomorph experimenter David (Michael Fassbender). The studio seemed to view the franchise as one badly in need of a rethink — especially since it's hard to make a cheap "Alien" movie.
At a reported budget of $80 million, Fede Álvarez's "Alien: Romulus" wasn't exactly affordable, but it was cheaper than "Prometheus" and "Covenant," and, most importantly, a straight-ahead horror flick with the kind of stalk-and-seed frights that made the first two movies — "Alien" and "Aliens" — box office smashes. Curiously, the studio's parent company, Disney, initially wanted to take Álvarez's acid-veined thrillride straight to Hulu. But they eventually realized they had an unabashedly mainstream "Alien" installment on their hands, and, $350 million worldwide later, they have a completely rejuvenated franchise.

With “Alien: Romulus” now available to watch on streaming, there’s no better time to dive back into one of sci-fi horror’s most iconic franchises. Directed by Fede Álvarez, “Romulus” has already stirred up praise for returning to the series’ roots, offering the kind of terrifying, claustrophobic tension that made the original “Alien” such a classic. With a fresh cast thrown into the never-ending fight against the xenomorphs, “Romulus” continues the franchise’s legacy of blending heart-pounding horror with stunning visuals. But is it enough to make the top spot on the list? To celebrate its release, I’m ranking all the Alien movies—from Ridley Scott’s genre-defining 1979 original to the intense new entry. Fede Álvarez's franchise revival, Alien: Romulus, was a big hit at the box office, so we wouldn't be at all surprised if the Don't Breathe director was already in talks to helm a sequel.
If you happened to miss the movie on the big screen, Romulus is now available to purchase on Digital platforms, and Fandango has officially released an extended preview spotlighting what might be the most intense few minutes of the movie.
In the clip, we see Rain Carradine and her makeshift crew arrive at the seemingly abandoned and decommissioned Remus space station to salvage some fuel for their journey to a more hospitable planet.
Unfortunately, they soon find out that dozens of face-huggers were in the process of being transported in stasis, and are released when Andy tries to access the ship's computer.

For the longest time, it didn’t seem like a sequel to 1982’s Blade Runner would ever happen, only coming into the realm of possibility decades later. And there was only one man for the job: original director Ridley Scott, who had long desired to get a sequel to Blade Runner going. But as we all know, Scott would become too busy toiling with his Alien franchise to commit to the film. Enter Denis Villeneuve, who took the opportunity to helm Blade Runner 2049 even though he was almost certain it could tank his career.
Denis Villeneuve was initially hesitant to take on Blade Runner 2049 – and is still haunted by it – but saw the challenge as just what his career needed at the time. “I said, ‘Ok, if I do one big sci-fi movie, and I risk everything, that’s beautiful. To make a sequel to my favorite film...

Ridley Scott is inarguably one of our greatest living filmmakers. From sci-fi masterpieces such as "Blade Runner" to underrated recent dramas such as "All the Money in the World," the man hasn't lost a step despite being well into his 80s. But is it possible that Scott just made the greatest film of his illustrious career? That may well be the case, if Scott's assessment of his own work means anything, anyhow. Per the filmmaker, his upcoming sequel "Gladiator II" may well be the best thing he's ever done.
In a recent interview with Empire, the director discussed his forthcoming sequel to the 2000 historical epic "Gladiator," which went on to win Best Picture at the Oscars. Unafraid to set expectations rather high, Scott made a pretty bold claim. "It's the best thing I've ever made," he boldly told the outlet. "One of the best things. I've made a few good 'uns,...

Ten years ago, Japanese game publisher Sega and its subsidiary Creative Assembly (Known for the Total War strategy game series) released the science fiction survival horror video game Alien: Isolation. The game has players take the role of Amanda Ripley (daughter of Ellen Ripley) as she tries to survive on a space station while being stalked by the dreaded Xenomorph.
The game received an extremely positive response from both players and critics, winning multiple Best Horror Game of 2014 awards from multiple outlets. It reportedly sold over 2 million copies, making it a massive success.
The game received multiple pieces of Dlc content, which added more story, characters, and scenarios. For example, the “Last Survivor” Dlc pack adds Ellen Ripley herself and is once again played by Sigourney Weaver, giving fans the ability to recreate the feeling of the original 1979 film.
