Grant Morrison is one of the comic industry's superstar talents and for good reason: the man can write circles around even the most tried and true writers of comic books. So, does Happy reflect everything the man's accomplished but in the television format? Yes; surprisingly it works pretty damn well even if the results can sometimes be a bit bizarre. The comic-book panel transitions seem to be inspired by Ang Lee's Hulk movie from 2003, but put to MUCH better and more relevant and beautiful use. It's kind of astonishing how well it actually can work.
Happy is good and incredibly weird fun that is essentially a creative showcase for what Grant Morrison can do what others only dream about.
