A young woman called Ryan leaves her luggage on a New York City train . Noticing her predicament a subway worker called Nick promises to get her bag back . That's if she'll pay him 200 dollars
The first thing to strike me about this short film is that it stars Dean Winters . Anyone who can recall the HBO drama OZ set in a maximum security prison will never forget Winters show stopping turn as Ryan O'Riley , a prison rat who will do anything to survive . One wonders if the writer/director of THE WORST Larry Cohen ( Not to be confused with the other Larry Cohen ) has been influenced by Winters performance . Surely it's no coincidence that the female lead is also called Ryan ? As it stands Nick is something of a clone of O'Riley who is has ulterior motives of simple greed in helping the young woman . Winters is rather one note but he's good at playing this type of anti-hero . As the story progresses there is an element of character development and does have a feel good factor about it helped greatly by the musical score towards the end
