Back when the first season of Hawkeye was still in production, there were rumors that the Disney+ series would feature Clint Barton's villainous brother Barney, aka Trickshot. The character obviously never appeared, but we recently heard that he was expected to make his MCU debut in the planned - though still not officially announced - season 2.
Now, scooper Daniel Richtman is reporting that Marvel Studios has made an offer to an A-list actor to play Barney, who will most likely serve as the primary antagonist of the season. We don't have a name, but Richtman expects the character to factor into "multiple projects" going forward.
In the comics, Charles "Barney" Barton looked out for his younger brother, teaching him how to fight and improve his aim as they attempted to coexist with their abusive father. The pair eventually joined a carnival, becoming enamoured with Jacques DuQuesne/Swordsman, who took Clint on as his mentee.

Peter Molyneux, the legendary game designer behind classics like Populous, Dungeon Keeper, and Fable, made a surprise appearance at Gamescom 2024 to unveil his latest project, Masters of Albion. But instead of generating excitement, his announcement has been met with skepticism and mistrust from the gaming community.
Molyneux’s reputation for overpromising and underdelivering has left many gamers wary of his claims, especially when he suggests that this could be his last game due to his age and “lifestyle.”
Peter Molyneux’s Plea: Sympathy or Manipulation?
In a recent interview, Molyneux made some startling statements about his health and the potential finality of Masters of Albion:
“But I’ll be in my late 60s when this game is finished, and if I start another one, I’ll be in my mid-70s. My life expectancy is measured in days rather than years because of my lifestyle. I smoke and drink and don’t sleep enough.

Horror/comedies are notoriously difficult to get right. Too often the focus is on one or the other to the inevitable detriment of the overall feature. A recent re-release on blu ray of “The Trail” provides an opportunity to discover a forgotten contribution to the genre with some interesting names behind the camera.
A pair of Taoist monks are leading a corpse train through early 20th century China. These monks (Kent Cheng and Ricky Hui) though, are fake as are the corpses who are pretending to be dead as they are part of an opium smuggling operation. When local magistrate Miu kills the husband of a singer he was attempting to rape, he tries to cover up his crime by getting them to take the corpse away. As they progress they realise that the corpse is now revived and killing the local farmlife. As they try to...

Close-Up is a feature that spotlights films now playing on Mubi. Orson Welles's Touch of Evil (1958) is showing May 6 - June 5, 2018 in many countries around the world; and The Trial (1962) is showing May 6 - June 5, 2018 in the United States.Whether he was operating as an assured-beyond-his-years novice or, later, directing a major Hollywood production—or, as was more often the case, working independently with a sporadic allotment of time and money—Orson Welles was nothing if not consistent when it came to formal ingenuity. While Citizen Kane (1941) is the frequently cited pillar of this expressive impulse, Welles’ Touch of Evil (1958) and The Trial (1962) are perhaps the most representative titles of his visual disposition in the service of psychological reflection. Mirroring character consciousness as much as it inspires viewer acuity, Welles’ elevation of set design, sound, editorial tempo, camera movement and placement all serve the purpose of enriching the respective film,...

John Lithgow and Sherri Shepherd are set for co-starring roles in The Trail, NBC’s docu-style single-camera comedy pilot from Jeff Astrof, Matt Miller and Warner Bros. TV. The serialized comedy, a spoof of such documentary series as The Jinx and Making a Murderer, follows Josh Simon, a young big-city lawyer, and his oddball defense team during a high profile murder trial in a small southern town.
Lithgow will play the suspect, Larry Henderson, a smart but slightly clueless poetry professor at a South Carolina community college who is accused of murdering his wife. Henderson finds the whole notion of being charged with murder absurd…but he’s got a couple of secrets that could really derail his defense.
Shepherd will play Anne Flatch, the well-meaning and enthusiastic assistant/receptionist at Josh Simon’s makeshift law office in East Peck, South Carolina, Anne suffers from facial blindness — the inability to...
