Tired of ditsy FLs in c-dramas? Then watch Alliance, a well-crafted drama with adults acting like adults

I have rewatched Alliance a number of times instead of persevering through Chinese dramas with airheaded female leads. It doesn't take me long to drop a c-drama when the FL sounds and acts like a woman-child.

Alliance has zero airheads...the acting is excellent and age-appropriate across the board. The FL and ML have a slow-to-develop romance which unfolds plausibly, and there are enough twists in the plot to hold the viewer's interest.

Since I have to rely on subtitles, every time I've rewatched Alliance I pick up on an element or two that I had missed before. That has increased my enjoyment and appreciation of this drama. I highly recommend Alliance!
