The Writers Guild of America West is prohibiting its members from working with producer Steve Small and his company Fifty Feet Movie, LLC.

The union notified members on Wednesday that it had placed Small, a former Paradigm agent and Emmett/Furla Films executive who has produced the indies The Hungover Games (2014), Cash Out (2024) and the upcoming Armored, and his company Fifty Feet Movie, LLC on its Strike/Unfair List. The union’s rules bar members from working with individuals or companies on the list or risk a fine. Until this decision, Fifty Feet Movie, LLC was a signatory to the union’s main contract, called the minimum basic agreement.

The union provided multiple reasons for the move. The union claims it determined that Fifty Feet Movie, LLC “was not financially responsible and is unlikely to meet its Mba [minimum basic agreement] obligations” on several titles including Cash Out and the upcoming Alarum and The Epiphany,...

June’s home entertainment releases are kicking off in grand fashion this week, as horror and sci-fi fans have a lot to look forward to with the new arrivals on Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday. Scream Factory is keeping busy with a double dose of terror with their releases of The Abandoned (in conjunction with IFC Midnight) and The Funhouse Massacre, and for those of you who may have missed the supernatural thriller in theaters earlier this year, The Other Side of the Door is making its way to both Blu and DVD courtesy of 20th Century Fox.

If you consider yourself something of a Star Trek fan, Paramount is distributing the Director’s Cut of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan on Blu-ray this week as well as the complete run of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which arrives on Blu for the first time ever this Tuesday.

Inside Llewyn Davis Inside Llewyn Davis was a hair away from being my #1 Movie of 2013 so, yeah, it's the highest recommendation of the week by a long shot. Here's a snippet from my Top Ten of 2013 write-up: The storytelling in this movie is just so lovely, soft and subtle. It's a film guided by characters that turn left when in most films the story would demand they turn right. As a result they go off on tangents that many will believe unnecessary such as the biggest complaint with this film, the John Goodman sequence. But these are the moments that make up our lives, these are the moments people want to hear about. Our lives aren't made up merely of milestones, but the little things in-between are just as responsible for making us who we are.

Out of The Furnace This isn't a great film, but it's a fascinating one if you look deep enough.

The movie is a spoof of three hit films - "The Hunger Games", "The Hangover" and "Ted".

In the film, Bruce will play one of the futuristic "Hunger Games" play-by-play announcers alongside Kendra Wilkinson's husband, Hank Baskett, reports tmz.com.
